Day 16. You're a character (any character) from S2-S11 and you've drawn either Buffy or Spike in the Buffyverse Secret Santa. What do you buy?
Can I pick s12? because there was a lot of drama going on in s11 and they were not even at home with Dawn. As I am Dawn in s12 (the biggest Spuffy shipper ever) and I have drawn Buffy then I will have that skull ring custom made and gift it to Buffy without consulting Spike, of course, cuz I am the intervening lil sister who has all the rights to make people do what I want them to do and put ideas in their mind 😉

I will be Willow in season 11, I've drawn Buffy, and I'll buy her some short shorts because Buffy never wears any, and it's just not fair.
I'd like to point out that you guys get shirtless Spike a lot, and this is all I can ask for. And I have to be Willow because guys can't really buy short shorts.

I'm Dawn and it's S6. I have the money but Instead of buying the gift for Spike I'm going to make it. Because all he really wants is blood, booze, Buffy and cigarettes and even after the ewww factor I can't buy any of those things. So I'm going to make him a mix tape and put on all his favourite bands the ramones, the clash etc. I'm sure he can steal I mean scrounge up a tape player, there's probably one in my basement he can have.
Okay, it is season six and I am Anya and I`ve drawn Spike. Because I am a very practical thinking demon, I will get him one pack of cigarrettes. I have checked the prices via google and it is just within the limit (Geeez...guy´s, your cigarettes are way too expensive !). I have just enough Money left, to get a red ribbon as well, which I will wrap around the package in honor of a very christmas tradition, That I don`t understand but am trying to adjust to.

I'm Xander S10 and I've drawn Spike. I've found a limited edition Ramones 7 inch on Ebay. It's actually $15.00 but I've offered $13.00 and the offer's been accepted. Andrew's been a bit scathing. He questions its authenticity but I've told him I'm distracted by the ghost of my dead girl friend and my mind isn't on the job. Andrew thinks I should have got onions for Spike (he wouldn't tell my why. He said Spike would bite him if he told). Dr Mike says I should avoid any present giving situation in case they bring back the trauma of my "not-a-wedding" wedding. 🙁 I'm not wrapping it because I'm a real man and real men don't wrap Christmas presents. 😱 That aside, Dawn's tidied the flat- I don't know where she's put the sticky tape and the kittens have shredded the paper.🙁

Ooo, sorry I missed this until now. Erm, this probably doesn't work as fitting to the seasonal timings but I'm ignoring that... okay I'm Giles and it's S10 and to try and make up for trying to have him killed in S7, and as I've heard and appreciate how well he is working within the team that I'm hoping to rejoin myself, I'm going to put together a 'Best of British' pack to bring back to America with me for Spike (I'm on my way to SF to reunite with Buffy and Faith had claimed an extra secret santa slip because she thought it would be a good idea if I was bearing gifts). So, Twinings English Breakfast teabags, weetabix, proper Dairy Milk and marmite (I've decide he loves it) are all safely in my luggage. As the teabags and choc are on offer I can do it all for a tenner easily. If money were no object Giles would probably get some rare Brit punk record.

Hmm, that's an interesting one. Once again - this happens constantly since joining the boards, lol - my fanfic writer and my logical side are battling it out for the answer.
The logical side wants to remind me of Joyce's reaction in Crush, but my fanfic writer side then rebuttals with her kindness in Lovers Walk. That's when the mud wrestling begins, yeesh!
I think that, given time to get used to the idea, Joyce would support Buffy in whatever relationship, so long as she was happy. She may even get along well with her son-in-law. But there will always be a part of her that would wish her daughter could have normal, with all the trimmings, like children and such.

Spike quickly becomes attached to anyone who shows him any form of kindness. They are both unlucky in love, so there is some shared experience. Joyce only gets to see Spike from his best side. He can be very charming.
Whether or not she would have been supportive of his later relationship to Buffy would depend very much on how much she would learn and how she was told. I think it would be a tough sell. I doubt she would approve.
My fanfic writer brain works very different from yours. Mine is all, 'How do I make everyone miserable and who should I kill off?' 😛

I can't see her being too happy about season 6 lol. But I do think overall she supports Buffy having someone like her in her life because she knows she can't be that person. She liked Faith at first too. I think she finds Spike to be sweet and honest, and a reminder that Buffy's world isn't always torture. So she'd consider Spike a friend and protector to Buffy, but I don't know about her wanting them to be a couple. (Especially given her feelings about Angel)

But we should not forget, that Joyce was shocked, when Buffy told her about Spike`s feelings and that she encouraged Buffy to do everything, to keep him at distance (probably including the revoking of the invitation).
Had Buffy told Joyce of her season 6 relationship with Spike, Joyce would not be at all supportive,
a) because of the partly unhealthy nature of that relationship and
b) because of Spike being a vampire. She would have tried to give Spike the same speech, she gave to Angel in season 3. Only difference would have been, that Spike wouldn`t have listened.
In season 7 though, I think, she would have noticed how much Spike has changed and that he risked everything, to get his soul back and become a better man. She would have supported him and also a relationship between him and Buffy at that point. At least that is, what I believe.

I was going to ask this one myself 🙂
Spike liked her cuz she had a very motherly vibe the first time he met her(officially) was when she was worrying about Buffy and who is this bleached bad guy with her so that scene had a very motherly touch and Spike never stopped missing her caring mom. Joyce was a very kind person so she must have picked on what Spike felt for her.
About Spuffy relationship, soulless Spike she won't approve but I can see her totally onboard with ensouled Spike. Out of everyone she would be the first one to realize getting his soul for Buffy must mean that he loves her too much to hurt her ever again. There might be wish for normal but then Buffy had already died twice so I think the want to protect her would be stronger for Joyce so a stronger ensouled vampire is better than a normal guy who would only add one more person on Buffy's to-be-protected-from-the-next-demon
