Wow, it speaks volumes about the episode that it's taken 2 days to get past the EWWWWW! factor for somebody to suggest we start a Discussion thread! lol

I have many questions about this episode, which i may add was a great episode, except for the whole Conner and Cordy thing

~1st why is Cordy back?
~Is it because of Conner that this big bad it in LA?
~Why is Cordy sleeping with Conner?
~How come Angel couldn't kill the ?
~Why is the big bad after Cordy?
~Why did the big bad tell Angel that "She not safe with him" or something like that?
~Why is Fred acting so stupid with Gunn?
~Why was Cordy to harsh with Angel?

- I think Cordy is back because of what she did when they were in Vegas. She interfered to save Angel and that was a higher being NoNo and as punishment she was sent back to earth sans memory.
- I don't think the BB is there for Connor. I think that's Connor's adolescent 'the-world-revolves-around-me' view talking. I think it's there because of Cordy, actually, because a) it was going after her, and b) it specifically mentioned her to Angel.
- The Cordy/Connor Ewww boinking was a charity/pity move on Cordelia's part because she thought the world was coming to an end and it would make no difference, and because she felt bad for Connor's never having had much good in his short life. Of course she couldn't be more wrong on the 1st point and there will be repercussions galore.
- The BB is clearly way beyond Angel's strength, he is only a vampire and this thing is way up on the Evil chain, Apocalypse-y even.
- Fred is freaked at Gunn for 2 reasons, I think. 1st, he interfered in the professor show-down so he didn't allow her to deal with it in her own way. She might not have gone through with it anyway, there's no knowing. 2nd - she now looks at him and knows HE's killed a human, she didn't look at him that way before, and double-standard - he didn't want her to have to live with that but it's ok for him?
- Cordy said she needed time to come to grips with what he'd been and done. Although she knew before, as an HB she experienced and felt it all, and for her it was all new. I think barring the end of the world and sleeping with Connor she hoped that she'd learn to deal with it better when some time had passed.

Anybody else's thoughts?

This is definitely one Angel episode I dare not watch again. It was disturbing & upsetting. That monster dude freaked me out & the Connor/Cordy thing at the end was kinda -- just wrong. I was covering my eyes everytime the hell-beasty-monster-guy came on screen. I felt like I was a five year old watching Scream for the first time.

Then when Gunn and Fred were talking about taking a bath I thought Fred was going to break up with him at that moment. I was screaming at the screen, "Don't you dare break up with him!! Dammit, no!" But by the end of the episode, I think Fred wanted to stay with him. Please agree with me people.

Next thing, I hate how much Cordy has changed. All the seasons on Buffy were great, and 1st & 2nd Seasons of Angel were just as good too. But now Cordy doesn't have the attitude, or the look, & doin' it with Connor is pathetically stupid.😡

Now for the BB: What exactly does he wants? Are we sure it's Cordy that he wants to get to and/or kill, or is ending the world his thing? All I know is, I can't stand looking straight at him without almost pissing my pants.😛 Freaking scary, man, freakin' scary!

If there is no new episode until January, I'M going to be the one throwing people over the side of the building. WB execs, look out! You've never seen anything so dangerous as a woman deprived of her weekly Angel fix!

I heard January as well...but look at the bright side, maybe that means new episodes of Angel well into the repeat-dominated Spring season.

I think that question was made to drive us crazy until the next episode.

I guess I just assumed she was calling Gunn. The one thing I was psyched about was the fact that Wesley joined up with the AI guys for the fight and he was holding the hurt Gunn at the end. It was like a peek of the old Wes.

January, that sucks. Frees up my Sunday nights I guess.

Hey, you guys are lucky! At least you still got to see the first 7 eps, in England we have to wait till January! And i only know about this ep what ive read here and on city of angel, but....
Eww! Cordy and Connor?! How stupid? The old Cordy would never have done something so dumb! And i kind of want Wes and Fred together, but i dont want her to hurt Gunn... Oh i cant wait until January!
*Cordy*

It was particularly heartening because Gunn and Wes were effectively rivals (over Fred), and never seemed to have a civil word to say to each other whenever they'd met before.

But I still see Wes and AI as natural allies (although no longer friends); it seems pretty clear this season that in spite of "sleeping with the enemy", Wesley is trying to stay on the side of the Powers That Be.

By far, the best fight scene I've seen on Angel in a long time! Even though Wesley couldn't defeat the demon with firearms, he still kicked ass! There's something definitely up with Cordelia. She's doesn't seem to trust Angel anymore, even with her memory back and all. Someone brought up earlier why she didn't warn the gang about the demon she and Connor ran into. That also was pretty strange. And sleeping with Connor? Pretty damn awkward. That's like Dawn sleeping with Xander. Eww....

Now, I am really curious what is going to ahppen in the future on Angel. He had to watch connor and cordy. We already know, that Angelus is coming back to fight the BB and then gets out of hand. Will he try and take revenge on connor or Cordy for what they did?

Has anyone besides me noticed that Cordy has been packing on some extra pounds lately?

Like possibly Charisma Carpenter may be pregnant?

Is that why Cordy's all of a sudden sleeping with Conner?

Will Cordy become pregnant from this encounter?

Will Cordy sleeping with Conner trigger the resurgence of Angelus? (cuz if that doesn't do it, I don't know what will - Angel's not getting any lately)

And will this bring the prophecy to light?

You know the one - THE FATHER WILL KILL THE SON

But, then we have to ask ourselves -

If a child results from the Cordy/Conner interlude :

Will Conner kill his own son?

Will Angelus kill the baby?

OR

Will Angelus kill Conner? (Has anyone else noticed that Vincent's credits at the beginning of the show seem slapped together and don't stay on the screen as long as anyone elses do? It's almost as if he's not going to be permanent)

Ohhh....

Wow! Good opinions. i cant really say, as im in the uk, but its all very interesting! Cordy pregnant with connors child? i hope not, lol. I mean, a few months a go she was changing his nappies, and now... shudder! But the phrophecy was supposed to be a fake, right? lol, i dont know, but all your ideas ae pretty cool!
What was Lilah dressed as Fred like? Lmao, the idea frightens me!
Why isnt Lorne in the credits? Its so unfair if you ask me 🙁
Luv Cordy xx

I'm inclined to agree with Buffy Anne's explanation of why Cordy slept with Connor. (I think there's also meant to be a contrast with the hooker at the beginning of the episode who wouldn't touch him without a $50 fee, even though he saved her life.)

I can't see Angel's view of Cordy and Connor going at it resulting in the reappearance of Angelus. Isn't only true *happiness* supposed to do that ? He looked pretty unhappy to me. (Of course, there may another Whedon twist coming up...)

And why can't Cordy's baby be Groo's? They spent enough time in Mexico together, and since Groo is part Pylean demon the genetic results could be almost as interesting as if it were Connor's...

Now that I have finally seen the episode i can give my input to this discussion. And here it is:
OH MY GOD!!!
I have to say that was brilliant. Now I'm not in favour of the whole Connor/Cordy bump'n'grind but I have to say...Joss Whedon and co. outstanding at shocking his fans. When Crody was telling Angel that she will always love him but she can't be with him right now because of the whole living what he did as Angelus thing. Did anyone at that point honestly think that by the end of the show she would end up in bed with his son?

I certainly did NOT!!

I also don't think that she would have done it if she didn't think that the world was about to end...for real this time. It was a gift to him. She wanted him to experience something nice before he died. She's sooo going to regret that in the morning.

As for Wes how cool is he at the moment. I have to say I wasn't the biggest Wes fan when he first joined the show mainly cause I missed Doyle but he has come into his own. No more screaming like a girl or sissy fights. He has found his erm.....guts. lol

I feel sorry for Fred she must be well scared away from the gang not knowing what is going on as she wasn't there when they figured it all out. And she was obviously trying to phone Gunn so she must be worried sick. Not to mention how worried he's gonna be once he regains conciousness.

The Big Bad. Awsome.

And finally poor Angel. That look of pure hurt on his face when he saw Conner and Cordy in bed together. NO FAIR!!!!

Wicked just wicked cannot wait for january....it is going to be pure torture!!!

Wow - good episode, crazy episode... Totally shocking. I see that I'm of the same opinion as everyone else:
Loved how Wesley helped Gunn at the end. Ewww with the Cordy-Conor thing...It just looked and was wrong!

I'm wondering does anyone else think that somehow this demon-thing might be related to conner (not in the family sense)? I mean it did rise from where he was born, Connor turned into the demon in Cordy's dream, and the demon knows Connor and Cordy...which brings me to the point of what did that whole "do you really think he can protect her" thing REALLY mean?

Can't wait to see the next new ep. Do we really have to wait until January? B/c way torturous!

later all!
Falcon

connor and cordy was gross...and cordy...i really don't like her much anymore...poor angel...and i wanna smack connor! But that evil guy was so scary! and i cant believe how badly the guys got their asses kicked! This whole ep was so unexpected and it kept me on the edge of my seat...i was definately expecting apocolypse....

and just some info i heard about cordy from a reliable source:
Charisma Carpenter is pregnant. Her official site, Charisma-Carpenter.com, confirms she has a baby on the way. She's due in March and it's the first for her and hubby Damian Hardy. So far, the powers that be plan to have Cordy around for the full season. Sources say it is most likely that Connor will be the daddy of the baby.

You guys feel the same way about this ep as I do. It was a bit slow at first, kinda boring but towards the end...WOW.
I really hope the writers make Cordelia Cordy again (there's a thread "Apocalypse nowish: the real Cordy? that talks about the change). She was the humorous side of the group, you know? I don't like her so...analytical. I also heard about that 'spoiler' just posted, and thought that that is why they did what they did at the end of this ep. Big EWWWW for me too. Only because Cordy should act like a mother to Conner, not a lover. But you can also see where she's coming from. It's the end of the world. You're here. I'm here....need we say more? But yeah, ewww.

Please say I don't have to wait until January for the next episode. They did this to us last year too. Why is that?
