Ok, sorry if this is a repeat. But I would love to know what are the 5 scenes which you felt most emotional towards? Take into consideration the characters, writing and the scene. What scene made you shed a tear, or just feel so close emotionally to the characters at the point they were. I am personally, not a person who tears up much at all, or gets upset. So these scenes all had a huge effect on me.

For me, my five (in no particular order)

I will Remember You, scene where Human Angel and Buffy have there last minute -

This scene for me epitomizes the true love that is there between the two. This is one of the only two scenes that I actually shed a tear on in the whole of Buffy/Angel. It is amazing writing, and so sad!

The Body, the first scene -

I was amazed by this episode. It is the episode I go to when I feel sad (and dont want to cheer up), it is the other Buffy moment I was actually welling up. The absence of music, the acting, the realism of the acting all came together to one huge ball of sadness.

Potential, Xanders speech to Dawn -

This made me gain so much respect for Xander, and is probably the first time I actually connected with his character. It makes you realized how the two must feel, and how they do have this one off connection (I do not ship Dander). I love this scene so much.

A hole in the world, Freds death -

Fred was my favourite character in Angel, I was so amazed by her growth and amazed by her. So for me this episode is all very emotional, even though I think fresley was initiated way too late the scenes between them are so heart-felt. Also, the line "Please Wesley, why cant I stay?" always gets me.

The Body, Anyas speech -

This speech was amazing, and Emma performed it amazingly. It is too be honest what I think when someone close to me dies, I think about the little things "She'll never have any fruit punch", its so hard to get your head around death, and for me this speech explains why.

1) Becoming: This scenes shows how powerfull Buffyis, she just have to controll her emotions, and use them against their enemies.( Sorry for the long post)

Sorry for this long post but pictures say more than thousand words. I can't really put than in a important list, there are just favorites.

My top 5:

1) IWRY - Buffy and Angels last minute together.
2) Sleep Tight - Connor is kidnapped and Angel falls to the ground devastated.
3) Becoming Part II - Buffy kills Angel.
4) The Prom - Angel breaking up with Buffy.
5) The Body - Buffy fining her mom dead.

Joan the Vampire Slayer
Joan the Vampire Slayer
Sleep Tight - nice choice. The look on Angel's face kills me, too.
It's tough enough to pick five, so mine will be in no particular order.

1. Buffy saying "Read me the signs! Tell me my fortune!" and "I don't want to die" in Prophecy Girl.

2. Xander visiting Willow in the hospital in Becoming II - "Come on, Will. Look, you don't have a choice here. You gotta wake up. I need you, Will. I mean, how am I gonna pass trig, you know? And who am I gonna call every night... and talk about everything we did all day? You're my best friend."

3. Giles allowing himself to believe that Jenny might actually be real in Becoming II.

4. Tara: Willow ... I got so lost.
Willow: I found you. I will always find you. (The Gift)

5. Willow and Xander forgiving Buffy at the end of When She Was Bad.

Honourable mention for Cordelia's "You are a sheep" speech in Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered.

Joan the Vampire Slayer
Joan the Vampire Slayer
#1 always makes me cry, too: "I'm 16 years old. I don't want to die."
IWRY
1. The kiss outside
2. The kiss and hug near the end as the clock strikes

Hero
Doyle at the end

Seeing Red
1. The attempted rape
2. Tara dying

Here are my top 5. Well, I'm not actually sure if these are the top 5, but they're definitely 5 favorites of mine.

- Xander stopping Willow at the end of Grave
- Buffy and Willow learning about Jenny's death in Passion
- Faith wanting Angel to kill her in Five by Five
- Willow crying after being saved by Buffy from Veruca and Oz in Wild at Heart
- Willow's emotional breakdown at the end of Wrecked

- Faith crying and begging Angel to kill her in Five by Five.
- "YOU TOOK MY SON!" Angel attempting to murder Wesley in Forgiving.
- Wesley's hallucination of Lilah as he prepares to decapitiate her in Salvage.
-Wesley's death scene w/ Illyria in Not Fade Away.
- Angel, Spike, Illyria, and Gunn in the alley, looking on with disbelief as an army of demons approaches them in Not Fade Away.

1) Sleep tight- where Angel finds out Connor was kidnapped
2) I don't remember the episode name, but when Darla stakes herself and Angel picks up baby Connor for the first time
3)Forgiving- When Angel says "You took my Son!" and tries to kill Wes
4)Fool for Love- When Buffy tells Spike, "Your beneath me" the same way Sesale did
5) Angel- At the end when Buffy and Angel agree this can't go anywhere, then they kiss

Even though I hate adult Connor, I loved baby Connor and I found his story arc very emotional in season 3

1. The Gift ending! So emotional!!!! The way all the characters react, particularly Spike and Dawn but also when Buffy is falling through the portal with that dramatic music! And also her speech to Dawn in the background as her grave appears, 'The hardest thing in this world is to live in it! Be Brave... Live... For me'

2. ALL of The Body, particarly when Buffy says 'Mommie', her reaction after she tells Giles 'they said we couldnt move the body' Dawn's breakdown, Willow's crying and Anya's speech

3. Buffy's breakdown and crying in Listening To Fear as he washes the dishes and listens to the disturbing 'happy' music on the radio!

4. Faith in Five by Five, 'Just Kill Me'

=5. Buffy crying and collapsing into Tara's lap in Dead Things and Giles's speech about Jenny by her graveside in Passion

I'm crying really hard while reading this entire thread. It's gotten really bad now and I'm up to your post so I decided to comment on it. LOL.
1. Beneath Me
Spike: "Can we rest now? Buffy? Can we rest?"

2. Lie To Me
Buffy: "Does it ever get easy?"
Giles: "You mean life?"
Buffy: "Yeah. Does it get easy?"
Giles: "What do you want me to say?"
Buffy: "Lie to me."

3. The Body
Buffy: "Mom? Whadya doin'? Mom? ... Mom? ... Mommy?"

4. Seeing Red
Willow holds a dying Tara in her arms. Enough said.

5. The Prom
Buffy: "I can't breathe, Wil. I feel like I can't breathe."

Looks like many of our choices are the same!
I didn't know we could choose from Angel, too...

I think I am gonna try to do these in order of when they happened in the series . . . we'll see how that goes . . .

1) Prophecy Girl - "I don't want to die." That whole scene is pretty amazing and I can't imagine what it would be like to go through that.

2) Becoming Pt2 - "Close your eyes." Yeah, it kills me every single time.

3) The Body - As soon as Buffy says "mommy?" I'm crying until the end of the episode.

4) Afterlife - When Spike sees Buffy alive for the first time again.

5) Fred's death - Seriously, can't handle Wesley in that scene. And Fred telling him to tell her family that she wasn't afraid, even though she was.

Wow, this is a hard one!! There are a thousands 😛
But I'll give it a try... so here's five among many, in no particular order.

"Prophecy Girl" - the "I'm 16 years old, I don't wanna die".

"Becoming, part 2" - the killing Angel part, and when they place "full of grace" and Buffy is walking around devestated.

"Touched" - Spikes speech to Buffy when he found her in that empty house, and after that when she asks him to hold her.

"The Gift" - when Buffy jumps, her speech and everybody's (especially Spike's) reaction when they see her on the ground.

"Helpless" - Buffy crying when she found out that Giles had been injectin her with that stuff.

"Chosen" - the scene with Buffy telling Spike she loves him.

Well... that was six! Sorry 😛 there are just too many great scenes!!

2) Sleep Tight - Connor is kidnapped and Angel falls to the ground devastated.

I'm just gonna say this one five times. It's one of those scenes that just kill me when I watch it. (Actually I could add Angel's and Connor's fight scene in "Home" too... breaks my heart)

Top 5 tearjerker moments

I was going to go with top 3...but I realized I would have to leave some crucial ones out. Here goes:

1. Anya's speech in "The Body"
2. The gang standing up to Tara's family in "Family"
3. Willow destroyed as Oz leaves in "Wild at Heart"
4. Spike's late night speech to Buffy in "Chosen"
5. Pretty much the whole last 5 minutes of "Chosen"--the original 4 standing at the crossroads/hall before the Big Finale is what kicks it off

Is tearjerker a positive expression? Or a negative one? I'll take it as positive.
1) Xanders speech to Dawn: You're extraordinary. ...
2)Buffy to Giles: I'm 16 years old, I don't want to die! ...
3)Buffy's breakdown on Taras lap because of her feelings of Spike...
4) Spikes breakdown in season 5 when he thought Buffy is dead(what she actually was...)
5)Willows breakdown when Oz leaves her...

R.E. Ripper666's question as to whether "tearjerker" is a good or bad thing...

Tearjerker is a good thing--Joss making us feel feelings and stuff. When I'm going through a tough time in my life I often turn to the Jossverse, and these moments seem a lot more poignant then.

Yeah Ripper666 a tearjerker can be something positive, like the gang sticking up for Tara or Xander's speech to Dawn, or it can be something tragic like Tara's death. What ever makes you feel emotional.

I can't possibly narrow it down to just five, because there are an abundance of scenes that trigger my emotions, so it's probably impossible for me. But while I watched season 6 and 7 when they first aired, it's these three particular scenes that got to me the most, and has been etched in my mind since. I've never been so moved in my life than I was with these powerful scenes (and of course they're Spuffy heavy 🙂).

These are some of my faves too. :)
I can't choose just five. But I'll write down five of my favourites. These are by no means the most emotional but they are some that come to mind.

1) Fred's death. Being that Fred was my favourite character on Angel (followed by Lilah, then Wesley) I found it really hard to watch her go. I knew it was coming, I knew how it was going to happen but I just broke down. I can't even handle it. And Wesley...just...I can't imagine what that was like for him.

2) The ending of The Gift, most notably Spike's reaction and the music and the...everything. The second time I watched it I ended up on my knees on the ground crying in front of the episode.

3) The Body, mostly Willow's crying (I am like, in love with Willow guys) and Anya's speech. I cry so hard in that episode. Oh, and Dawn's breakdown, that's pretty hard to handle.

4) Giles finding Jenny dead in Passion, and the telephone call that follows where we see Willow and Buffy. Alyson Hannigan is a really good crier, truly.

5) Willow holding Tara's body in her arms and crying. Again, her crying is so...I don't even know. I just die every time. Also I would like to mention Dawn finding Tara's body as being a bit hard for me to handle also.
