I wouldn't go crazy trying to hate a ignorant person since they simply don't know better but you definitely shouldn't support these people...hopefully by losing supporters it will wake him up to his ignorance...but it's hard to change a person after so long

So true. It's just sad that one man's ignorance will spread to more than 3 million others (since it's not only his followers on twitter that hears about this).

I haven't followed his tweets and the discussion that much so the comment may be taken out of content. Which I guess would be good to know and not just jump to conclusions. But until I do I can't see it as a good comment no matte how I twist or turn it. Serious or as a joke.

That is one of the things that really irks me. I grew to like him because of his interviews on Chelsea lately. I think Chelsea is way better than this and I don't know what to say.

Just found this vid of Ellen talking about the suicide. Maybe OT, he doesn't mention 50 cent, but I was just so glad that someone other famous is talking about this in a much more healthier way and expresses what I hope many people feel. Take a look if you want!

I know she tweeted it and other big name celebrities have been re-tweeting it, getting the word out. Even some suicide hotlines have been doing their part and i'm so glad that they are.

Yay! It's of course horrible the whole situation, but I'm glad that it looks like something good can come from it.

I became really sad when I heard about what he'd said. I'm bisexual myself and most of my friends are gay or bi so I really took offence. It's really hard to imagine someone wishing the life out of us just 'cause we may like someone who has the same gender. 🙁 So it's really nice to see that the majority of people I've heard of and all you guys has reacted to 50's statement in a negative way. Makes me keep my hope for humanity. :heart:

50 Cent is just...He got relevant for being shot 9 times. Now that people got over that miracle he's struggling to find ways to keep himself in the limelight. He's been picking random fights with multiple celebrities on twitter for a while now. He's a scumbag anyway.

I hope she does too. It is being said she was at dinner like a "date" with him. It is her personal life but I hate to see her loose fans and go down with him.

You know what surprises me the most about this? Seeing that people agree with him. Some of my friends are defending him so much right now and i'm in the corner waving my hands around going "Hello! he's talking about me and my gay friends here!"

I agree with it's sad that people get influence by him. I think it's a product of all these tiny, tiny (as well as huge) homophobic statements and jokes are allowed to exist without people doing anything about it. A lot of times it's hard to speak up 'cause you don't want to be the "boring" person not laughing at a semi homophobic joke and so on. These tiny things send out the message that it's OK to be homophobic and eventually become really big things and that's when stuff like Tyler's death happens. We need to take this seriously and do something about it, people!

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't see it as a big deal. They're just words, they're not hurting anybody, right? And normally I'd agree with them..to an extent, at least. Free speech and all that. But it's different when your words are used to put down a group of people who are currently fighting for their civil rights. Should we then defend the "free speech" of pro-segregation advocates in the 50s and 60s? Maybe, as far as free speech goes, but certainly we can all agree that they were wrong to use their speech, and their actions, to keep inequality alive.

It's not the exact same situation, no, but I just don't get why celebrities don't mind what the hell they say when it comes to gay rights. It's a delicate time, and people are listening to them. But instead of educating the ignorant or publicly supporting gay people, you have 50 Cent tweeting crap like this, you have Katy Perry performing songs titled "Ur So Gay" (after, ironically enough, the song that made her famous entitled "I Kissed a Girl"..) and it's just so frustrating.

The only thing that makes me feel even a little bit better is knowing that equal rights are an absolute certainty. It's just taking a loooooonnngg time to get there and that's the hard part right now.

Exactly. He's not really worth my time. If he wants to be homophobic, it just shows how stupid he is. Honestly, would anyone want to live in a world where there was nothing but people just like them? I'd freaking hate that! Bunch of annoying blonde girls asking you to repeat things. It would get on my nerves.
