Definately looking forward to tonights ep! Does Buffy really kill Anya.............. here in Florida - 10 hours and 45 min and counting!

I'll just edit this post as soon as I see it, but for me here in N.Y....5 hours & 27 minutes away!

----
Just watched it. Damn. That episode was an ongoing zany-fest.
::rolf::
I burst out laughing when Anya was singing and she said that line about her last name. God, I was seriously crying; the whole episode was too damn hilarious. Absolutely the best episode all season, and the much needed humor was all there. I thought Willow was going to say more about that Angel-deal where she really didn't say "˜kick his ass'. Finally she finds out about that, and she doesn't get into an argument with Xander or anything. Before I watched the episode, I read somewhere that Halfrek was going to die, so I saw that part coming. There was hardly any Dawn or Spike in the episode, but it didn't ruin it. Weird that D'Hoffryn mentioned the 'from beneath you, it devours'. Obviously not a coincidence.🙄 Emma was so great in this episode; I really need to say that...maybe 10 times more too. The whole spider thing was icky, and I closed my eyes for those parts 'cause I hate spiders. Does anybody think something might happen with Willow becoming a vengeance demon? I felt they were hinting it a little bit, but probably not gonna happen. D'Hoffryn kept making smartass witty remarks, and I couldn't stop laughing through the whole episode. And when Willow called Buffy at the school to tell her about the dead guys...then Buffy asked if she got the class she wanted...that was great.😛 I keep smiling just thinking of this episode. And Emma talking in whatever the hell language they were speaking; for no reason at all I just couldn't stop laughing at that. Tomorrow is going to be a great day, 'cause I won't be thinking of anything else.

I just saw it..

I dunno I didn't really like that episode.. I love Anya as a character but I can't believe D'Hoffryn killed Halfrek.. Grar. But I would've been pissed if Anya died too. Damn I can't believe she's still a vengeance demon!

And I was very grateful Joss decided to put another song in there 😀

I agree completely, excellent episode! Emma did a great job acting this episode and suddenly I'm becoming a Xander/Anya shipper.

We may have caught our second glance of the shapeshifter, or it could have just been Spike's madness. I'm leaning towards the prior due to his reaction when the real Buffy stepped in. I wonder where she took him after he told him to get out of the basement?

I was so cracking up when Buffy was balancing the mug of pens on her forehead. That was just great.. I kinda missed out on why exactly Anya is scared of rabbits. Maybe I was away for a moment when they showed why.

I give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5. It doesn't get much better than this Tuesday.

Yeah, this is one of my favorite episodes. I really like it. I love that Anya decided to choose thr right side. I really don't like evil anyanka, so I'm glad she's back.

Obviously, Willow has stuff to work through. That part where she went semi-dark was spooky. I love Will, and I love my loves good, so I don't want to see her go bad again. Maybe she'll teter for a while and have to deal with stuff from her past. Stuff having to do with betrayal, and heartache, and abandonment. And forgiveness. She needs to forgive.....someone.

All week I had been thinking, this was gonna be one of those "filler" episodes - all about Anya - eh, what's the big deal. Nothing great.

WOW WAS I WRONG!!!!!

This was absolutely one of the best episodes all season!!

Funny funny funny. And I agree, I must have blinked or something because I missed the whole why she's afraid of bunnies thing.

And I was totally fooled by the Buffy's with Spike. How touching and heartbreaking all at the same time. Did you see his hair? Yum!!

Buffy balancing the pencil cup on her head?? I laughed so hard I nearly fell off the couch!!

Xander could still lose a few pounds, all he does is waddle and whine.

And I see Willow is back to wearing her hair like she did in high school and the colored tights. She must have been feeling nostalgic.

Great ep. Keep them coming just like that - it was a winner!!

This ep was so good!!! I loved all of the Anya flashback scenes!! When her back is up against the wall, Anya can really fight. I found myself cheering for Anya instead of Buffy!!!😱 😱 This is going to be one my fave eps for this season. It was cool to see some of the evil Willow come back. I guess that she will never fully be free of that evil self. All in all, tonight's episode rocked!!!😛 😛

Yeah I missed why she's afraid of bunnies too. I guess it has something to do with when she had all those pet (?) bunnies when she was with the Troll guy.

Great episode - Emma was fab in it. And this ep was so funny! I am so mad they killed off Halfrek though - not because I like the character but because they never worked through the her being Spike's former love thing. I hate it when shows introduce something like that and then don't resolve it.

And that was a really interesting twist, making Willow go back to the dark side. Though, I have to ask, what was she doing in England all this time when she was supposed to be learning how to control her magic? One protection spell makes her regress?

This ep had funny moments but I wouldn't say it was particularly one of my favorites. Maybe if I watch it again...

D'Hoffryn was hysterical though! I am upset that he killed Halfrek - I liked her - but from his standpoint Anya must suffer and killing her best friend is the way to do it. Someone said a few posts ago that they couldn't believe she was still a vengence demon. She isn't - D'Hoffryn said "you're gone from me" or something like that.

I also missed the bunny thing. If ANYONE caught it could you let the rest of us in on it. Thanks!

I am hoping that Xander and Anya get back together now - he did admit he still loved her.

Adored the scene between Buffy, Xander, and Willow where Buffy was trying to explain why she had to kill Anya. The look of realization on his face when Buffy reminded him that she had to kill the love of her life as well and he was cheering her on - it was awesome!

I also think the scene in the basemant was the shapeshifter again. And D'Hoffryn saying "From beneath you it devours" - another hint perhaps? I'm expecting the Hellmouth to open again definately.

Looking forward to the Halloween ep next week! Seems we may meet the shapeshifter face to face. And the Halloween eps always have classic humor.

Definately the best season so far.

That was a great episode (as I keep saying every week.. lol)! I liked it a lot, Buffy is keeping very interesting this season. The evil Willow relapse was kinda scarah!

Is it a new ep next week? They called it a 'Halloween Buffy' but it looked in the preview like they might be re-running the Season premier. The past couple of years they re-ran old Halloween or classic scary eps (ie, Lady of Buffdom, and Anya as Bunny, Hush). Maybe that was the WB, though. Last year, now that I think of it, was a new ep (Anya: "It's a special kind of Angel, called a 'Charlie'). God, I will miss her!

have not seen this ep yet as I am in the UK, but D'Hoffryn and Willow! He has offered her a job as a vengance demon before in S4 - Something blue - when she did that spell where her wishes came true without her knowing it.
I would not be surprised if they picked up on that again later on in the show.
Halfrek dead?! I agree with Buffy Summers. Why mention the Spike/ Halfrek relationship and then not elaorate on it to explain.

The episode next week is just a repeat of the Season Premiere. They just called it a 'Halloween Buffy' for no real reason.

A repeat!? Gods, that is so evil. So the mention of all the big bads is just referring to the scene at the end of the the premier. GRRRR... that sucks! I was looking forward to perhaps a NEW classic halloween ep. Another cop out! I'm gonna go GRR myself to sleep. Gnite.

On Anya: enoughs been said about her role in the show. It was fantastic and i laughed at the Anya Lameass Made-up Maiden-name line lol! First she throws out some long name making you wonder if that was really her full name. THen she throws out the lameass line to twig you to her whole deception lol. too funny.

On Xander: Ugh yeah he's getting fatter, and it doesn't sit very well on his face. The real question is: is it just how he is in RL, or is it by design? Perhaps they are going to explore the overweight thing on the show - something they haven't touched yet to date. Still, i had a good laugh when he is talking about getting more swords. All these years and he still never fully got it that Buffy kill things good.

On Buffy: She has been through hell in her life and it shows. She doesn't flinch a moment at the portents of doom, because hey after all this is just one of many apocalypses for her. She treats business and pleasure completely seperate as she always has, but lately she has been getting really good at not letting it worry her in day-to-day activities. Despite all this she still performs her duty to the fullest and never hesitates for a second. Wow. The part where she is asking Willow over the phone if she got the class she wanted was the perfect way to drive this home.

On Willow: WOW! The best part of the show were the willow parts in my opinion! She is back to wearing her old style of hair, and even has on some clothes that remind you of the old times too. On the other hand, this just makes the contrast between what she is now, and what she was then all the more clear. Now we can't use clothes and hair as a visual cue for her willowy status, and yet it is all too apparent that she has changed DEEPLY. First of all, she is not scared in the least to be going out investigating death scenes on her own. That's a huge step. She used to get that pinched look of fear on her face and flinch from danger. Now she just looks like the biggest danger at hand is within herself, regardless of the carnage around her. And the line she says when she goes all black-eyed: "Quit your whining"!! OMG that made me laugh. The poor girl she was saving must have been terrified to see who exactly was saving her. It promises much for the harsh, bitterly self-restrained Willow we may see in the coming eps. I could go on about willow's part all day. It really struck a cord.

On Spike: He seems to be struggling towards sanity, but this entity WILL NOT let him go. On a plus side, he seems to have moved from wimp status towards confused and disoriented status, which is a major step in my opinion. Go Spike! Fight the power - literally!

Double Post: -

BTW, i suspect that the 'Kick his ass' thing will play out in a later episode. It's really just par for the course on the Buffy show to make a major revelation and not deal with the consequences until a later show. And not just the next show either. Generally, they will shuffle the consequences back 2 or 3 shows to make you wait for it while dealing with some other issue first. Kinda keeps you hungry lol.

Cases in point: In hush buffy and riley are revealed to each other. Counterpointing the show's theme, they can finally speak but are still unable to, thus shuffling the 'umm why is a little girl like you kicking guys halfway across the room' theme back a few eps.

In OMWF, Buffy finally reveals she was in heaven, but they don't touch on the consequences for quite some time.

In 'Angel' buffy finds out her love intrest is a vampire, but they push the issue back in favor of exploring willow in 'I Robot you jane'

Etc, etc, etc. True Buffy at it's finest.

Yes! I was like - "Now why wouldn't Willow say anything more to Buffy about that after Xander left?" As in "You know, Buff, I actually told Xander to tell you that I was doing a curse to give Angel back his soul."

As for next week, I thought it looked like a clip show. They usually only do a Halloween ep every other year, I think.
