Wow, this was definitly the best episode of the new season so far. ^_^ It definitly helps that it was Anya-centered and that Anya is my favorite character. I love the parts with her past although I didn't get why she was afraid of bunnies. Maybe because bunnies remind her about what happened in the past? ^_^ It was great to see the old Anya was so different and yet similar to the one we have now, she wanted to give away free bunnies (and considering her love for money now that 's really weird) but she was also apparently still blunt about things.
I was really surprised about Buffy in this episode, it seems like Buffy is getting more and more cut off from her emotions. Her split second decision to kill Anya seem to captialize this, she had no idea what Anya was going through or whether or not Anya could be redeemed. She hadn't even talked to Anya before she decided to go off and kill her. And her reasoning was that Anya was a demon and demons should be killed. Plus her 'I am the Law' comment sounded a lot like what Faith told her about slayers being the law in season three. I'm not really liking this progression for Buffy. I seems like she's turning into pure slayer mode. Even in Spike's little vision you see dream Buffy in her white shirt being kind and caring and then Real!Buffy comes in in her black shirt and is pretty cruel to Spike.
Loved the mention of the 'Kick his ass' line and the mentioning of Angel. ^_^ I can't wait to see if that line will be addressed in future episodes. 🙂 Loved the musical part with Anya, it was very powerful when it cut out to her stuck on the wall with the sword.
Anyway this post is *way* to long and if anyone has read it I would be really surprised.
