9-11, did the world really change?

My cousin died in the attack of 9-11 so my perspective my get a little personal.

The people responsible for the attack were insane I think we could all agree on that. Many people may hate them right now and they have a right to it.

Those people killed hundreds of people. Those people wanted to change America. They succeeded.

How did they succeed? you ask.

Look around. Everywhere you look you see they American flag.
On every TV channel there is a commercial asking for a moment of silence. On almost every radio station there is a song about it.

So the world has changed. We are more united than we used to be. And that attack made us stronger. That attack may be the undoing of their plan.

This of course.... Is my opion

Do you mean to say you believe that America has the right to intervene in another country's affairs? You've just confirmed everything Hitler, Stalin and any other dictator has ever said; that there is a superior race, and that superior race has superior rights above anyone else.

I'm rapidly going off this thread.

I don't believe Angelic said anything about the US intervening in other countries - she seems to be making the point that in America, since 9/11 that patriotic feeling has increased. Which is something that I have noticed in my visits there since 9/11. I don't think Americans believe that they are any more superior than they did pre-9/11 - which admittedly was pretty superior compared to us mere mortals 😉 - but that those events have made them feel closer together as a country (Ok - from a middle class WASP pov). But I think it has made them realise they are not invincible or indestructible, which can't be bad if it makes them less arrogant or isolationist.

I know from people that I've spoken to in the States that they do appreciate the support that was received from other countries in the aftermath of 9/11 and I think as a result the US is a bit more humble and aware of the world in general a bit more.
 
I read the "yes, i think it has" as a result of the question does America have the right to interfere. I see how you mean though. I'm sorry, its simply that I have encountered a lot of thought as I stated; there are a number of people (American) who feel that America is a superior race, and has that right to interfere.
 
I know this is slightly off topic but didn't America used to fund the IRA, which is a terrorist group in Ireland. Only after September 11th did the funding stop. Ireland has been suffering attacks of terrorists for years and America had no thought to interveen.

Anyway, back on topic. My life personaly hasn't change. I flew home on September 11th and even at the airport security seemed slack.
