Okay, I want to see this!

From Variety

"Original series cast members Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling will all return. The broadcaster has ordered six episodes of the series, which are set to air this summer. The network has dubbed the revival simply “90210.”

The event series comes with a twist, however. The actors will not be playing their characters from the show, but rather heightened versions of themselves. Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a “Beverly Hills, 90210” reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for more drama than the reboot itself."

I think that's awesome. A meta 90210 with the actors playing themselves playing their characters. I am so down for this.

It'll be interesting to see how good this turns out. Fandoms always want the original crew back, but can it ever be as good as the original run?

I don't understand anything here. So they are playing themselves playing their parts? Is this a reality show? Also - where the heck is Dylan?

They are playing a version of themselves playing their characters. So Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori are the characters they are playing as they attempt to film a Beverly Hills 90210 revival in which they play their respective characters from the show 20 years earlier. Needless to say - or at least I thought it was needless to say - it's a comedy.

Think Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Oh hmm well that might not be terrible.
Normally the thought of watching a 90210 reboot...or the original would make me want to gouge my eyes out, but this sounds kind of entertaining. Few things...
Will Shannen Doherty and/or Luke Perry be involved.
If Doherty does return, will she get into actual fight with Jenny Garth (or others)?
😀

Neither are supposed to be in it. It's just a limited "event" but if the six episodes or whatever does well it might be a series and then you never know.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is not a comedy 😀

It's like that one Nightmare on Elm Street lol

Curb Your Enthusiasm is NOTHING like that one Nightmare on Elm Street

(which by the way is awesome and the only nightmare than made me anxious)

I wish 90210 had continued for years and years so that Jason Priestly couldn't ruin Tru Calling.

As I was cooking my bowl of Cap'n Crunch for dinner I fell to thinking about how Boofy Summers compared that Nightmare movie to Curb Your Enthusiasm; I thought man, how clueless is she? And then it hit me like a box of Jimmy Choos.

I would like totally LOVE if Alicia, Stacey, Paul and Donald got together and did that for Clueless. That would be awesome!

cooking Capn Crunch? 😦
It sounds more interesting than the other 90210 remake, but wasn't that also called 90210?

I thought this was like a Buffy EW thing and got excited, but this sounds... meh. Also, no Luke or Shannen? Guess Dylan and Brenda have ridden off in the sunset together for their happily ever after 😛

Let's milk that cow for all it's worth! After we exhume it, of course. When the show was current, the cast all looked like they were close to being pensioners anyway, so now they will at least look as old as they actually are.

This just sounds like pretentious, back slapping. Its like a post-modern joke gone mad. You notice its the ones who didn't have career after the original show who are taking part. Not interested. Either re-boot the show properly or leave it alone.

Oh, imagine the Sharknado jokes on Ian Ziering's behalf.
Exactly! And maybe Megan Fox could make a cameo. They are trying to get Luke Perry do be in some episodes but they need to work around his Riverdale contract.

It was called Beverly Hills 90210 lol. To be different! It was a mess of a show but at least it canonically acknowledged Dylan and Kelly got married and had a cute little kid.
