HeyIm from Mex n I was wondering if u guys think there will be a 2nd season.. for tru calling

Well, it depends on Tru does the next few months, especially Episodes 14-20.

It didn't guite get a full season (22+ episodes), so usually that means that the network intends to pull it for May sweeps. That isn't a good sign.

Dark Angel averaged 40% more viewers than Tru and didn't get a 3rd Season.

However, I think that Gail Berman (president of the Fox network) might be swayed by the reasoning that it was up against fearce competition, and if they retool, bring in a new show runner, introduce some new characters, that it could be more competitive.

That isn't the usual Fox pattern. Usually all they look for is immediate hits, which is why there's so many shows that have been canceled. But Fox has so many gaps in their lineup, that perhaps they'll grant an acception to Tru.

However, Fox does have a huge lineup of mid-season shows, and have put quite a few shows in production for late spring/summer, and more pilots that usual. They have plenty of shows to replace Tru Calling with.

Gail Berman was the one at Fox that gave Buffy a chance after less than steller ratings. However, Buffy's first season did have higher ratings than Tru, despite being on the fledgling WB network. If it wasn't for Gail Berman, Buffy might never have gotten off the ground, and from her recent comments, she believes in Eliza. So hopefully she'll go to bat for Tru.

Recently Fox has greenlight 25 episodes of a reality soap opera, that analysts say is a cheap alternative to scripted programming for Thursdays or Fridays. So Fox isn't going away from reality programming. In fact, they're giving this show more episodes than Tru Calling. So I'm not sure that's a good sign. This stupid soap is expected to premiere in April, right around the time Tru Calling's season finale will be on.

My guess is it's 50/50 right now. If there's an improvement in the quality of the show in episodes 14-20, no matter what the ratings, I think it will increase the chances.

It's really much too early to discuss a second season yet. I suspect this will be another of those shows that will have to wait until the Fall lineups are announced to find out whether they have a future.

Dark Angel was in a similar situation with their 3rd season. The show and Jessica Alba had been heavily marketed the previous months, but when the Fall lineup was announced, DA was not on it.

I hope there is a second season, Faithshubby is right it is a bit early but oh well I still hope there is another season, this is a great show, and if Fox pulls it I am gonna be so freaking mad..

What I hope doesn't happen is Fox leading on the producers to believe there will be a 2nd season when there's no chance there will be. Many times that happens a show isn't properly concluded.

Tru Calling will wrap production in March and it might be May before we know for sure if the show is or isn't picked up for another season.

Last year, Fox told the producers of John Doe to have a cliff hanger season finale and not to reveal the secret of John Doe because it looked like the show would be renewed. Then they canceled it and the JD producers and fans were pissed off.

But with Tru Calling wrapping so early, the TC producers might try to do some big cliffhanger finale as a way to gain interest in the show and get Fox to renew the show.

With Buffy, the Season 1 finale was designed to conclude the series if there wasn't a season 2, and I think that works out much better for the fans than trying to do something huge and leaving fans angry and confused.

Also, the fans can't wait until May to try to save the show. Once it's been canceled, it's over. Maybe another network will pick it up, but more likely the whole production staff will move to other projects. I know some people that worked on Roswell Season 3 that were pissed off at their fans for starting their write-in campaigns in May and not doing anything in January or February, because that was when the show really could have been saved. I don't want that to happen to Tru.

yeah tell me about it...i remember dark angel...that didnt get the right ending...!! i was so upset when they canceled that show..although the second season was kinda strange...but i still loved the show.. 🙁

I hope they do give it a second season, cause I really want this show to stay on like buffy did LoL. This show can really grow into something really cool, just like buffy did. But the one thing that I'm still wait for Tru to do is FIGHT..now I know that really isnt that important. But I want to see her kick some ass man, I thought for sure she would be doing more fighting, when she kicked that gun out of the guy's hand in the pilot episode. But I guess thats just the buffy fan in me wanting to see some fighting. But I really want to see a second season..and a third season..and a fourth season, and a fifth season..lol I want this show to do well man...cause it has so much potential, I think.

it doesn't seem very likely, but i really hope they do have a second season! It really depends how the next few episodes do....

Wow! I'm surprised that Tru Calling doesn't have awesome ratings, because I think it's one of the best new shows of the season! It's definitely on my top three, if not top 2!

I think fox was very unfair with the decision to cancel Dark Angel... I know that on the WB, the new show One Tree Hill isn't getting very good ratings, but the people at the network think that there's lots of good plots and stuff in the show, so they will probably keep it. I wish Fox would do the same for their shows.

One Tree Hill is like WB's new best show. i mean i thought it was getting HIGH ratings...

see instead of asking if u guys think their might be a new season we should be asking what can we do to keep this show? we must find something creative and smart.

But, then again think back to when Buffy first started. There were only like 18 episdoes in the first season of Buffy and the show went on for 7 years!(which was great *sniffs* I loved Buffy so much!

Hopefully Tru Calling will stay on for a few years. Its really a great show..better than a lot of the shows out there.

You can go to http://www.supporttrucalling.com to help the show.

Buffy had 13 episode it's first season. And it had slightly higher ratings than Tru Calling, despite being on the very fledgling WB, which had about less affiliates then compared to Fox. Buffy really didn't do that bad it's first season. It was a midseason replacement and a lot of people didn't give it a chance, but once it came on, it did quite well. But it doubled it's ratings by the Season 2.

The problem with Tru Calling is that the ratings are so low that the amount of money Fox gets for ad time doesn't cover the production costs of the show. Fox can't make any money doing that for very long. So they can't justify keeping the show on.

The WB didn't have any choice keeping One Tree Hill on because Tarzan flopped, the Gilmore Girls spinoff was canceled and Fearless was posponded until next season. The WB didn't have any thing to replace it with. If Fearless hadn't had so many production problems last summer, One Tree Hill wouldn't even be on right now.

I'd like to see it, but I'm realistic about it, and I think we all know the FOX network and thier habits pretty well.

The ratings have been pretty consistent from what I've seen, so that suggests that they aren't going to go up in the last half of the season. I don't see FOX renewing a show that pulls the ratings that Tru Calling does. Even if it was up against heavy competition.

Then again, I've heard that FOX is bringing back Family Guy, so the network may be thinking more about thier decisions these days. Who knows, right?

At anyrate, I think we'll keep seeing Eliza in stuff even if Tru Calling doesn't get picked up for a second season. I bet she'd guest star on Angel some more, and Joss Whedon might try out that idea for a Faith show that we always here rumors about.

just so you guys know, Fearless has been totally shelved. Sooo even the WB is cancelling shows, and it's one of the two lowest rated stations.

I think that is early, but fox is very happy whit the ratings tha show is having. If the show is picked up for season 2 that's when the show really have to proof how good it is. Just tell everyone you know to give the show a try.

Tru calling is an awesome series and has mucho potential although there is one big thing going against it-the network that picked it up. Wish it would Have been the WB that piloted the season.

I'm Pulling for a second season here, but in all seriousness with the way rating are going and the fact Tru Calling is piloting on FOX its doubtful. Highly Doubtful.

Arghh I hate thinking that way, I love this show.
