A Buffy Trilogy!

On down the road when everyone is satisfied with doing "other" things wouldn't it be hot to see a Buffy The Vampire Slayer Trilogy? If Ally was still committed to HIMYM, then they could film in the summer. I think everyone would do it, including Sarah if the script was good. I even read that she now would consider doing a feature if it was written well. What do you all think? Feature, Trilogy, or leave the film versions of Buffy buried??
 
Both Gellar and Boreanaz have indicated that they would only consider reprising their roles if the vehicle was for cinematic release, a possibility which is remote at the best. As for the rest of the two casts, they might be willing if time permits, but, as Marsters has indicated, the clock is ticking, and he feels that an aging Spike wouldn't be credible. Similarly, I doubt that a bunch of middle aged Scoobies would be very believable.

More likely, some time in the not very near future (Joss seems to be hung up on comic books at the moment) a new team of demon fighters may grace either the small or large screen, probably a new Slayer and a support team. At the very best, we might hope for a guest appearance by one of the old regulars, but we can be pretty sure it will NOT be either Buffy, Angel, or Spike, much as we might want it.
 
Still a completely new "... the Vampire Slayer" show would be awesome, with or without old characters.

I agree completely, and if I were to be so bold as to suggest such a thing to Mr Whedon: Shows named after the main character have little chance of surviving if the actor playing that character leaves the show. A much safer approach is to give the show a somewhat generic title ('Tales of The Slayer' or "The Apocalypse Chronicals," for example) have a greater chance for long term survival, as the chance for the introduction of new characters becomes much easier, plus the strain of carrying the weight of the entire show doesn't rest on only one set of shoulders.
 
True, look at hex, that program changed the main character in the 2nd series and that survived for a whole further season lol

Well who said Spike had to be in it or Angel for that matter. LOL DON'T THROW THINGS AT ME. But you never know if they really worked out hard and used makeup they could hide their age. I mean James was 40 when the show ended and I WOULD HAVE NEVER GUESSSED THAT AT ALL!! SMG is still young, Buffy is still fighting in the comics, would it be so strange for her to still be fighting and saving the world 5 years from now??? And for the scobbies to be fighting as well. Giles has been fighting evil for years. As for a different Slayer, Meh...I would rather they just left it in the dirt if they went that route. JMO
 
I just saw a pic of James and he still looks like he could play Spike. It was from today. Makeup and lightining would help fine. Apparently no one likes this thread. LOL
 
Anyone remember that de-aging thing they did with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in X-Men 3?
 
That may work, also....what about this. How about a plot that would some how cause Angel and Spike to age, like a virus or spell or something. Any thoughts guys?
 
Well, I'll definitely admit that I would wait in line were a Buffyverse cinematic feature ever produced...but for now, I'm fine with Season 8 (and soon to be Season 6 for Angel).
