A children's show?

I've heard people say that before too. Buffy was being repeated on tv, back when we had cable channels, and my dad would sometimes see me watching it in the living room. He was one who thought it was a silly kids show, until he started sitting down to watch it with me one day. It was the Bargaining two-parter, and he ended up getting really into it haha. My mum came home, saw it was Buffy, and said 'get this shite off' or something alone those lines, and he refused. He wanted to know what happened at the end. 😀 He'll now admit that it isn't a stupid kids show, and that he was wrong. And coming from my dad, who's as stubborn as me, that shows how good the show is. That it can change their mind when people give it a chance.

LMAO, the only ep of the show my mom will watch is 'Pangs' which to me, is stupid, I love the ep, but come on! 'Pangs'?! LOL, but she loves Spike's lines in that and laughs her head off every time.

That's so funny because my Mom loves 'Pangs', too! She thinks Spike is the funniest thing ever. Although, her favorite characters are Faith and Doyle.

In fact, she's watching Buffy right now. She just past 'Bad Girls.'

We're also watching SPN together. 🙂 She LOVES Dean. 🙂

i don't think it's a kids show. To be honest, my parents hate that I watch Buffy, but they know that it's pointless trying to stop me now considering I've already seen every episode God knows how many times. I know my sister would never, ever let my neice watch the show, and most of my friends think I'm too young to watch it. I think people think it's a kids show because it's about vampires, and considering the amount of teen vampire stuff around now...Not surprising really.

Interesting; so your parents and friends think the show is too adult for you?

When I first started watching the show, I was in high school. If Buffy was a real person, I'd be a year younger than her, so I kinda felt like I was going through high school with the Scoobies. My mom thought the show was stupid, but didn't try to stop me from watching it, but once my dad caught me watching "Innocence" he was adamantly against it for a long time. But my mom was like "Look, she's not going out drinking or having sex. She enjoys this show and collecting stuff that has to do with the show. There's a hell of a lot worse she could be doing; leave her alone." 🙂

To this day my mother is still bothered by the fact that I watch Buffy. She's never seen a single ep but is convinced that it is scary and "messes" with kid's heads. I started watching when I was 10 and had to do so behind her back. I think it is utterly ridiculous that I had to do that.

I remember when that fan song came out "I Miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer", there's a line in it about the singer trying to get her friend into Buffy but never could. She goes on to say that she suspects that if her friends highschool years had been more painful she would have got the show. I think I'd have to agree with her there.

I don't agree at all. But maybe I misunderstand something. Throw together a lot a lot of shows (the names) including loads of kids shows and read them all. How are you gonna know which show has an ironic title and which hasn't if you've never watched the show? But maybe I'm just not sophisticated enough to see it. 😉

I just had an argument with my sis's bf about buffy not being a childrens show like 5 minutes ago! He was trying to say it was a PG LmAO.
I'm like it's a freakin 15! It has sexual scenes in it, i sounded like a total child when i said that there's the sex and rape. LMao.

Well I first found out about Buffy last year.So I was 19 and I was introduced into a show(which some people said it was lame) totally by chance, I actually watched a video in youtube and a friend of mine told me about "a vampire with a soul".

So I explored the case later. That friend of mine liked Twilight very much but I liked Buffy more, cause it is not just about high school in first seasons...it has deeper meanings, a great love developing, humour and a strong female icon.

You would never believe that but some people just laugh by hearing the name "Buffy" cause they think it's too lame. For example my sister said she enjoyed AtS much more than Buffy when she used to watch them on tv. But here in Greece only one season or two were shown on tv by each show, so people can not judge completely.
