I could never picture either Tara Reid or Hilary Duff as Buffy, they're way too bad actresses, if you ask me. I can't think of anyone I would have had as Buffy if it hadn't been Sarah Michelle. Has anyone seen the unaired pilot ? It has a different actress (Riff Regan) playing Willow. She looks and acts nothing like Alyson. I much much much prefer Aly. Oh and I remember reading somewhere that Bianca Lawson (Kendra) was initially supposed to play Cordelia, but she had another commitment and couldn't do it. Charisma's show Malibu Shores got cancelled just a few weeks before she got the call for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She too auditioned for Buffy, by the way.
 
OMG I used to watch Malibu Shores..I swear I don't remember Charisma being in it...it didn't run very long though. That is hilarious!
 
i was going to bring up the other willow in the pilot but you beat me to it 🙂

thats the perfect example of showing how even changing a secondary lead character changes the whole chemistry of the chaacters and the way the scenes flow so i think if they had a different sarah we wouldnt be surviving the end of buffy with seven seasons of dvds
more like jsut the one mid sesason filler of episodes
 
no!!I dont think there is anyone who could have played Buffy as good as SMG has
 
Britanny Murphy would do good, either her or Katie Holmes perhaps, but she's not blonde
 
yeah britt murfy is cool, but i sorta see her more as a movie actress, but she would have fit as buff though.. i think... it would have been wierd with smg as cordelia and charisma c as buffy... just cos i sorta see buffy as short and blond and cordy as tall and a brunett🙂

what about... no can't thinkof anyone🙂
 
i'm glad that katie holmes NEVER were to play buffy, hse was bad enough has little poor me in dawson!(ps: not trying to be mean!!!🙂)
 
Last year one of the members of this board had this intriguing idea of how to end Season 7.

She suggested it become necessary for Faith and Buffy to switch souls to defeat The First, then Buffy as Faith would die, leaving Faith as Buffy, creating the situation Digfic writer suggested of Eliza playing Buffy the Vampire Slayer in following seasons... Interesting, no?
 
DigificWriter, you came up with the idea that nerd4hire posted above? If so, I gotta tell you that I think it's brilliant. But Eliza Dushku would be acting as Buffy because Faith soul died in Buffy's body? That idea blows my mind!
 
No, I was not the author of the idea nerd4hire posted. However, I will agree that said idea is interesting. The reason I suggested Eliza's name in this thread was because I feel that she could have done an amazing job as the character of Buffy based, in part, on her performance as SMG/Buffy in 'Who Are You'. As I understand it, the intent of the thread is/was to list actresses whom you would have wanted to play the character of Buffy had SMG not been cast, and Eliza is on the top of my list. Others include Kiera Knightly, Amber Tamblyn, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Hilary Duff (whom I think is a great actress who hasn't yet had the chance to truly show off her abilities)
 
I think Julie benz if she got rid of that kiddie Vampire way of speaking then she would be fine, but Katie Holmes and Julia Stiles would be great.
Though I would not mind if Charisma Carpenter was Buffy.
