A glitch.....I think

Okay Buffy died for like a minute and Kendra was called. Kendra was killed then Faith was called. Well when Buffy put Faith in a coma where it seemed that she wouldn't ever recover why wasn't another slayer called? It seemed like Buffy was dead then Xander saved her . Well Sunnydale would be slayerless if Faith had never recovered(or so the Council would think🙂lol)so why didn't another slayer take over?

I believe that the lore only applies to a slayer being dead. Since Faith hadn't died, another slayer would not be activated. Even knowing what the Watcher's Council would have known at the time, activating a slayer is a mystical thing, not seemingly in their control.

yeah, she hadn't atually died so another slayer wasn't called. buffy did actually die for a moment

well in season 5 "the gift" buffy full on died and not just for a secound was another slayer made? no... When Joss got asked this question he replied:

"Once there had already been a mix-up with Kendra the council has decided not to call a new slayer until absoloutly sure"

Think of it as a mystical line; when Buffy died, she died and another slayer was called. The slayer line passed from Kendra. The fact that Bufy was then brought back to life was purely incidental, the slayer line has passed from her to Kendra, and it was a huge mystical bloop that Buffy came back to life in teh first place. Her dying in s5 did not affect the slayer line in any way, as the line had already passed through her and beyond.
