I am new here and have not read ALL the threads, so I apologize if this is something that's been discussed ad nauseum. Did anyone notice that the song Eve sang when Lorne was reading her was the song Lindsay sand in Karitas when he got his hand back in "Dead End"? I thought that was just the kind of thing that makes Joss so intriguing. That he would bring back something obscure like that for the true fans to catch as sort of a bonus. At least it felt that way to me when I noticed it 🙂

Yeah, I love those nice little touches we get in the Buffyverse. Especially that the writers don't feel the need to (potentially) ruin it by having someone point it out. That it's just there. And that makes it even more fun when you do pick up on it (some things take several viewings to notice). 🙂

Well, first I thought "How cool is that!"

Then I thought, "Why the hell is he singing her that song"? It's all about how he couldn't connect to the world! I mean, this is one of the verses for goodness' sake!

Pretty as a picture,
She is like a golden ring.
Circles me with love and laughter -
And I can't feel a thing.

Not only is it probably about his (sorta) ex, Darla, but it's a horrible thing to sing to your girlfriend, especially since it was obviously supposed to mean something!

And then I realised that it fit perfectly into my little theory that Lindsey was using Eve to get to Angel, and she was just too head over heels to admit it.

wow. Lindsey references. I love this episode. I think eve is naiive though. He's not comin' back for her (don't pop my Langel bubble, I'll have to kick your ass)

I think it shows that Lindsey and Eve had a nice thing going on and that he wasn't just 'using' her and her position at W&H to get to Angel. He sung her his song - an intensley personal song at that....maybe i'm too romantic 🙂

Oh I totally agree! That's exactly what I thought. It's not so much even the lyrics that made it sweet, it's that he sang her his song and it was just a really touching, personal thing. I guess I'm a sappy romantic too LOL 🙂
