You all may remember that after Andy's tragic death, we made a thread for all of us to post our condolences, which I then printed and mailed to Andy's family.

I just received (after it taking a bit to get forwarded to me by my parents) a very lovely note back from Andy's mom thanking us, along with two very nice pics of Andy (which I will scan as soon as I have access to a scanner).

I thought I would share her letter with you all, as it was from all of us:

I can't thank you enough for the many pages of beautiful sentiments of my son. I loved reading all the wonderful things said about Andy. It is so appreciated by me and also his Dad. I will try to find the site tonight.

Day by day I am trying to cope with this incredible tragedy that has turned my life upside down. I miss Andy more & more every day & will never accept this. He was and always will be the light of my life. The best son I could every ask for, and so much more.

What a kind lady, and how horrible that this had to happen to her family. Thank you to everyone who posted their tributes to Andy.

Awwww, that's so nice. I'm glad Andy's family got even a little bit of joy out of reading how much he meant to all of us. I, for one, miss him every time I think of Lorne. It takes just a little bit of the happiness out of seeing him onscreen knowing he's no longer with us in real life. But thank God that he will live forever in the hearts of "Angel" fans everywhere as one of the most warm, kind, and good characters ever in the Buffyverse.
 
I still can't believe Andy's gone...and he was only two years older than me. Too young. 🙁
 
Very sweet of her to answer. And if it helped even if just for a moment I'm very thankful for mailing it Buffy.
 
I've been off line for a while, so I just now found out. I hope it is not too late to offer my condolences to his family, friends, and fans.
 
Oh wow that was beautiful to read. Never in a million years did I think we'd get a direct response from a family member of Andy Hallett let alone his mum. Thank you for sharing this with us.
 
Thanks for taking the time to mail that in and post the reply for us, Buffy. I also hadn't expected a reply, but I'm glad that the posts were appreciated (and it was very kind of Mrs. Hallett to write us back).

I was so sad when I heard of his passing. I can only imagine how his family is dealing.
 
Wow. I missed the thread on sharing my condolences, but I think it goes without saying that Andy was a great man. His mother's letter made me tear up. How kind and sweet of her to answer it as well. R.I.P Andy
 
That is so incrediably sweet of her, I feel so much sympathy for her, A mother should never have to burry her child..My heart goes out to her and her family, nothing will ever make that pain go away.. with time it gets easier but that pain will always be there and for that i'm sorry no one should experience that. I'm glad that it brought her at least a little joy to see that her son was so well loved and his work touched each of us in a way that we will never forget. 🙂
