A live Buffy/Angel BBS!

I post a lot on BBS' but I'm kind of reluctant about starting new threads. But there doesn't seem to be a general welcome roll call thread and I don't want to intrude on anyone else's so I'll post my own (but it's not my own thread, other newbies can post here too if they want!)

I'm a latecomer to Joss Whedon's world, I've been into Buffy for less than 2 years, Angel for perhaps a half year. Late to the party, you might say. Once I started watching Buffy I just couldn't stop. I think it's become more than a "cult" TV show, as it's often described. I think it constitutes a modern mythology. From my point of view there's a lot of talking yet to be done, but Buffy having ended 2-1/2 years ago and Angel 1-1/2 years ago a lot of boards are just dying. We had a fairly lively one going over on the FX site but they took that away from us several months ago without notice. So if this is really an active board with lots of loyal fans I'll be very happy.

I took Giles as my profile not because he's necessarily my favourite (he's definitely one of my favourites) but because I think it's the role I might fit into best in this community, being male and in an older demographic. I go by a couple of nicknames, Tom is fine. I'm done with school (have been for a while) and I work as an engineer in the State of Connecticut, USA.

By the way, how come Anya isn't offered among the initial profile options? A lot of people love her.

And don't worry about not getting into Buffy/Angel late. Hey, it's better late than never!

Thank you all, you're all very kind. I guess I have to take the attitude suggested by SpikedBuffy-better late than never!

I think there are so many levels on which to watch these shows and it seems every time I see an episode again there's something I see that I didn't catch before. Sometimes I tend to ramble in my posts so if you think I'm going way off base or if I'm just overanalyzing something, please call me on it! I won't take offence!

Starting a new thread is exactly the right thing to do, and this is the forum for all introductions so no problem there. 🙂

That choose a character thing when you register is something for the dormitory forums (See the Buffy Boards School of Slayers and Demon Hunters), but I haven't quote got it working so it doesn't really do anything at the moment, so don't worry about it.

Hi Tom and welcome to the BB🙂 There are a few of us around here from that "older demographic" 😉 - I've never felt left out when posting with all these young 'uns 🙂
