I just thought of how a mae slayer could be born, say if faith and wood had a boy kid then genetically it would have a lot of slayer in him so he could be a slayer, even though its not genetic otherwise dawn would be one but it could still happen
 
I don't think potentialism (slayerness?) is passed on genetically. After all, if Buffy and Dawn have the exact same blood, but Dawn isn't even a pottential, than what makes Buffy a slayer (or any girl for that matter) can't really be physical. You cant go to a doctor and have your "slayer gland" removed. I think it follows more along the lines of reincarnation of the soul, not the body, which explains why, in the movie, Buffy had the memories of some of the past slayers. The fact that she had only some of them, though, points to the fact that maybe there are different lines, so that each potential is descended from a long line of slayer-souls, but only one is active at any one time.

That's just my theory, though. Joss seems to not follow genetics that much anyway, otherwise, connor would have been a vampire, and buffy's mom would have had to be a potential.
 
i dont think its genetics but im just saying the chances of the CHILD OF A SLAYER AND THE SON OF A SLAYER COULD BE SOME PROPHECY BRINGING ABOUT A MALE SLAYER, BTW I DIDNT PUT CAPSLOCK TO SOUND THREATENING IT WAS AN ACCIDENT AND I HAD ALREADY WROTE LOADS SO OK
 
I don't think its possible.

Wood was the offspring of Nikki, and thats really the only child of a slayer we've heard of, and he had no slayer strength. And since Dawn is made up of Buffy's blood, it totally says "No" to the genetical aspects of being a slayer.

I think to be a slayer, you would have to be a certain type of person. I've always thought that slayers were born with that strength, just that their calling unlocked this inherit power (i.e. "Into every generation... born with the strength and skill). Some think that potentials are regular girls with the ability to receive the power, noone knows whether this is biological or mystic.

Unless there was a major screwup in the slayer line, I don't think there could ever be a male slayer. I mean the legacy is for a girl, the power was given to the girl. There was a certain reason why girls were given the power. Plus it makes sense to have the slayer as a girl. A girl would appear to be weaker and girls are often more mature and they are more agile and fast (statiscally). Plus, thats the way Joss wrote it 🙂
 
You can't judge the male slayer thing on Wood. Just because his mom was a slayer doesn't mean he has to be. Plus, the whole slayer prophecy has been messed around with throughout the series of the show. First there was just Buffy. Then Kendra got involved. Then after her Faith. And ohh... the episode "Chosen" is a Perfect example of the slayer line being messed with. There would not only be 2 slayers but millions or billions of slayers all over the world. Every potential is turned into a slayer from that point on. All that energy being circulated throughout the world ...I'm sure a male would be given the oppurtunity to become a slayer.
 
At the begining of most of the episodes in Season 1 there was someone saying this:
"In every generation there is a Chosen One. She alone will stand against
the vampires, the demons and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer."
And I think there was another one that went somthing like:
"One girl in all the world with the strengh and skill to hunt the vampires".
So I don't think it's possible to have a male slayer unless someone did a spell to change it (like Willow changed it from being one girl to lots of girls).

i dont think it's possible to have a male slayer. first of all, the prophecy says "One girl in all the world..." so it would have to be a girl. Also, Buffy was talking about in Becoming, Part 2, that being the slayer is fate, and it was her destiny. So i dont really think genetics has anything to do with it.
 
Hey every one i've changed my user name and this is it, but its only changed a tiny bit, most of you won't even notice.

I just meant it would be a good idea for a fanfiction, you know some ancient prophecy about the son of the son of a slayer and a slayer being the first male slayer
 
Hello People! You keep telling of the Prophecy about one girl. That has changed. Did anyone read my post or see the episode Chosen? The Slayer line was indeed messed with and the chances for a male slayer are high. The spell has Consequences/ a Side Effect. In this case it wouldn't be a bad thing to have male slayers. It's like when Willow brought Buffy back. They were able to get her but also had to bring in a demon. I think if there were so many female slayers that in order for the world to keep balance there would have to be male slayers.

Well I said in my other post on here that there wouldn't be a male slayer unless a spell changed that so really that includes side effects from Willows spell in Chosen doesn't it. I completly agree with you, I'm just saying that that is what I meant in my last post. 🙂
 
It's an interesting possibility....but somehow I can't see it happening..dunno why..I just got so used to think of Slayers as of women...But never say never😉
 
This would be a really good premise for a fanfic though, invcluding all the discrimination that comes with being the only man ever to know a slayer's power.

Anyway, you should never say never in the Buffyverse, just look at Connor.

I was thinking. Come on, Fray fans. There is one male Slayer that we know of. Anyone ever read Fray? It's never explained, but her and her brother are both Slayers. He has the dreams and other things, she just has the super strength. How was he born made into a Slayer if guys can't be Slayers?

why should u be paid royalties? i always thought connor was like a male slayer until we found out he was at least part demon!!! then again arent slayers really part demon or they at least have demon in them
 
I think it could be possible. Atleast for a fanfic!
The slayer line has been messed with, there's not just one slayer anymore. So why can't the part about it being a girl be messed with aswell? Who knows what Willow's spell could have changed!
