Has anyone seen this marvellous film from the team behind the magnificent 'This is Spinal Tap'.
I watch it often, but today i bought the soundtrack and there are some great ditties to listen to.......

This is a lovely song, with quite a nice message blown out of the water with that last line.

Anyone seen this movie, heard the songs or got the soundtrack

OR infact any of the movies in this groups works, Spinal Tap or Best in Show?

This is Spinal Tap is an absolute classic! The film that pretty much started the "mockumentary" genre. I saw Best in Show a couple of years ago and thought it pretty funny, though not quite as good as Tap. I'd like to see A Mighty Wind, so I'm on the lookout for it in the DVD bargain bins 😉

I think Waiting for Guffman is my favorite Christopher Guest-directed mockumentary. Hilarious. Best in Show's great too. I haven't seen A Mighty Wind, but it sounds fun.

I love that he keeps using the same people over and over: Catherine O'Hara, Fred Willard, Eugene Levy, etc...

I saw Spinal Tab, and the dog show one. Yeah, they were good.

You're going to hate me for saying this though. I think I might like some of the television mockumentaries even better - The Office, Trailer Park Boys.

I would really like to see the Mocker Emma Caulfield directed, and starred in. I don't know how you'd get access to it. It did come out didn't it? I think Joss Whedon has scenes in it.

Huh. Never heard about the Emma Caulfield project. Neat!

On Saturday Night Live, there was a season back in the 80s, with Billy Crystal, Martin Short, Christopher Guest. They had some fantastic little mockumenatary shorts...I'm thinking of one with Guest as a choreographer and Short and Harry Shearer as synchonized swimmers, lol.

With Bandwagon, Caulfield deliciously bites the hand that feeds

Critics will occasionally gush about an actor's "brave" performance, but former Buffy the Vampire Slayer regular Emma Caulfield's participation in the brilliant new mockumentary Bandwagon is absolutely foolhardy on a number of levels.

In this picture, Caulfield portrays herself as an actress who has been adrift since her show went off the air. She admits to being perilously close to 30 and expounds through gritted teeth about all the roles she's been losing recently to younger actresses. With no clock to punch, she fills her days with lunches at trendy eateries; long sessions with her personal trainer to work off the lunches; and her endless, self-righteous efforts to Make the World a Better Place by throwing herself into whatever cause has caught her fancy that week.

When conservatives make their snide remarks about Hollywood's "limousine liberals," they are imagining people like the Caulfield we see here: a pretty girl who is vastly less intelligent than she thinks and who noisily makes her opinions public out of a mix of arrogance, misguided idealism, and the desire to get a little attention and hopefully prop up her own sagging career. Caulfield is shown harassing her former Buffy bosses for professional favors; she has a few tellingly curt remarks about notoriously prickly but highly bankable Buffy leading lady Sarah Michelle Gellar; she cluelessly endangers a bunch of cute little birds; and she says and does some things that will really piss off advocates for the mentally challenged.

Is Caulfield determined to never work in Hollywood again?

Following a few years in a supporting role on a terrific but Nielsen-challenged genre series and the starring part in the schlocky thriller Darkness Falls, Caulfield's career is at a major crossroads, and now would be a very good time for her to play it safe as somebody's girlfriend in a couple of big-budget, by-the-numbers action pictures. But instead she shows up in this tiny, scathing Hollywood satire and allows herself to appear as an aging, neurotic, pushy bimbo who is teetering on the very brink of has-been-hood. It's as if she's set out to violate every unwritten Hollywood law she can, without giving a good goddamn how unattractive it makes her to future casting directors.

Say what you will about what courage it took for Charlize Theron to gain 30 pounds, slap on some facial prosthetics and pop in some joke-shop teeth for Monster; with Bandwagon, Caulfield has taken a real risk, and it has richly paid off in what may be the most cringingly hilarious mockumentary since This is Spinal Tap.

Spinal Tap was awesome, loved it. Best in Show, was another,i can watch it often.

N4H...when you say The Office, please please please tell me you mean the British one, not the American Office. Steve Caroll is ok, but in no way can compare with My Gervais.
I love the Office, its one of my fave shows.

I often wondered what would happen if the great team behind Tap was to join forces with the great Mr Gervais...well i only have to wait a half a year.
For your Consideration, from the creators of Spinal Tap(ALL on board), a new movie about 3 actors in the American south, will....yes WILL star(cameo or co not sure) Ricky Gervais...how awesome is that!!!

This is so cool! It kinda sounds like that Emma Caulfield deal in that they're going after Hollywood itself, lol.

Guest will skewer the world of award shows with "For Your Consideration," his upcoming film which reunites Guest movie regulars Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Catherine O'Hara, Harry Shearer, Bob Balaban, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael McKean, and Fred Willard. Eugene Levy will also star in the film and co-wrote the script. Ricky Gervais will make his first appearance in a Christopher Guest film.

According to Variety, "For Your Consideration" is a departure from Guest's previous mockumentaries - "Best in Show," "Waiting for Guffman," and "A Mighty Wind." "For Your Consideration" involves the filming of a very bad indie film called "Home for Purim" and how award buzz starts circulating and affects the cast of the film.

Guest told Daily Variety that "Home for Purim" is an "extraordinarily poorly written movie.
