Willow ventured to the coast when she was allowed to be away from the Cornish coven that Giles had taken her to after she had scared the scooby crew: when she was known as Dark Willow.

A MISSING CROSS

She stopped for a moment, thinking of what to do and what say, she went into the police station to seek answers to the questions she would ask. The desk sergeant looked to her, then began to smile expecting her to ask a similar question to what he had heard so many times before.

Willow questioned the desk sergeant about the goings on at the house that resided near the cliffs overlooking Rocky View. The desk sergeant began to shiver, he had heard of the house though never in a way he wanted to. Beings with red eyes were said to wander about in the gardens of the property.

How can the police help you asked the desk sergeant. Willow faced him, “It was six the previous evening that I rang the cow's bell beside the door frame. Though the door was not answered I heard movement on the grounds of the garden just behind me. Turning I saw three creatures I could not describe as human.”

The desk sergeant said he would send two or three police officers there to make a report of what they might find. Willow said that if he would permit it she would like to go there and assist the police. Not being impressed of what they might find the desk sergeant agreed to Willow's request.

Two evenings later Willow and three policemen fronted up to the house. The leader of the police introduced himself to Willow saying he should be known as PC Allen, he told Willow that the police men had gone to Rocky View earlier that evening while they were on the way to the house Willow said there had not been a sighting of the creature recently.

PC Allen allowed himself to relax, he was glad there was the possibility the creature had gone to fields afar from there. A second officer PC Grant smiled, “Am I to believe that it is all sorted out now.”

“Already? the ghost is no-more?” asked PC Allen.

Willow slowly shook her head, “I never said it was a ghost, more that I thought it was soner kind of creature, though thinking about it, it could have been a dead animal which might mean it was a ghost.” PC Allen stood back a few steps, “What? why would you say that I had just begun to doubt the dread of it being not something we ought to face.”

One of the policemen who was there only to increase the numbers spoke out, “I did some research about this area while I can‘t tell you much about the creature, mainly because no-one knows much I can say this, two years ago there were two people killed near this house when a tree fell on them though there was no explanation of why the tree fell.”

PC Allen stated that strange goings on had been reported near to where the tree fell, its roots had compromised the grave of near where a creatures body had been found, PC Grant asked where the body was as he wanted to identity it. Willow interrupted the police, “From what I have been told there is no known identification of it.”

A policeman looked at the body, stating that it looked just like every other body he had seen in a grave. Willow thought the body had been recently buried as it appeared to be to fresh. Willow prodded the body and thought it appeared to be strangely cold. Considering it she called for her friend Buffy to come and look at the preservation of its outer skin.

Willow was of the opinion that the body might be that of a vampire, she thought it older than its age and thought that it was older than Willow considered the flesh might be. When Buffy arrived she was able to confirm to Willow that the body was as she thought the body was, it had fallen foul to the lack of an aging process, the sort that was known to be of a vampire.

Willow guided Buffy to where the tree was known to fall a couple of miles further along the track. Where the tree had fallen PC Grant pointed to the footings of where a house would be built. Searching her mind Willow saw the cottage that would be built there, she even knew where the table would be positioned near the open fire for her cauldron.

The following day Willow took Buffy to where the grave had been dug and its fill had been placed. Willow allowed PC Allen to lead where a ghostly figure guided him to a bright light in the upper branches of the tree. He offered them details of the original creature, where it made its presence known after the rain uncovered a body during the hours of darkness.

PC Allen wanted to make them concentrate on a ghostly figure as it wandered along the track in front of them. PC Grant made fun of the creatures foot prints that quickly faded as the rain washed them away. Willow faced Buffy as she wanted to get an answer from Buffy but neither of them knew a creature whose foot prints faded away after a small amount of rain.

Buffy looked to see if water could have formed as holy water as it fell through the clouds. Thinking her friend was clutching at straws Willow guessed a miracle had happened, she faced Buffy and shrugged her shoulders. Buffy was unimpressed by Willow's behaviour mainly as Buffy had often wished herself to be a ghost for the joy of never losing her keys.

As it was both of the policemen considered the other car that had slammed into the tree, trying to understand the report of the crash. The driver a woman said her eleven year old son who was in the back seat had been killed in the crash. The lad was later seen to be the spectral figure that had vehicles follow him along that stretch of track.

Wondering why he led them along that section of the track Willow suggested that might be where the missing cross might be though as Willow told herself, “if the cross fell from the car along there maybe it bounced further along that was why no one found it.” Searching the roadside scratches where found purportedly caused by a bouncing cross.

Going into the vegetation on the roadside Buffy pointed out that the ground was firmer where it had bounced suggesting it had bounced further than thought. Willow attempted to use her knowledge of magic to make her realise how far the cross had bounced to from there. Buffy thought the cross may have become broken more than what it had, smaller parts went further.

Discovering an impact with another tree had caused that part of the cross to be embedded in the bark of that tree they all searched that area. Though nothing was found around the base of the tree. Willow suggested that other parts of the cross may have passed by the tree at the same height as the impact on the tree, Buffy wondered how fast it had been going.

PC Allen and PC Grant measured the depth the cross had gone into the tree. “At a guess I would say the pieces would have to have been traveling at a rate that caused the parts to have gone further than any of us would consider it feasible. Note the impact was a horizontal impact, not going up or dropping down, it hit at a constant speed,” said Buffy.

Looking at the damage done to the car Willow noticed the damage done to it caused her to think the car had violently swerved, thus the cross may have been flung further than thought. PC Allen pointed to a gathering of trees, standing beside the damaged tree he decided the cross would have hit just above the ground. At the gathering of trees he looked to the car.

Buffy took control of deciding what the trajectory of the cross would have been, “As long as none of it glanced from any other tree. They each chose an area to start searching. Each of them collected several parts of the cross then took them back to the bonnet of the car to place each piece together, when they had it was discovered that only the top was missing.

The policemen suggested that they each use a torch to find the top of the cross. Buffy shook her head, “If it was the top of the cross that had dug into the mud by the tree it will not reflect any light, the best time to search for the section we want will be just after the next rain.” A very loud thump is heard and the trees shake as the roar of a jumbo jet is heard over them.

Not having an answer about the noise they chose to leave. As they were leaving the area, Willow noticed a woman standing near the trees, she soon realised that only she could see her. Even with the others next stood to her, only she heard the woman speaking to her. “Prepare to open your mind and your eyes, soon you will know more about me and my girls.”

That night Willow tried to be told who the girls were, she studied hard in her research.” Willow was doubtful about her findings.“What if I come up with something new?”
Not knowing what to think Willow decided to take the easy way and ignore her findings.

A Missing Cross Part 3

The three girls wandered deeper into the forest than they had ever gone before following an overgrown track that looked as though it was suitable for a team of horses and a wagon. They wandered up the side of a hill into what was a dilapidated hamlet on the fringe of a graveyard. The entrance to the graveyard was bounded by a stone wall with an archway that gave access to the graveyard.

Going further on the track they met a woman who introduced herself as Victoria, Krissi was puzzled by her and wanted to know why she was there, alone. “I am not alone, my friends live in the chapel a few paces closer to the church.” Victoria led them into the kitchen of the chapel, “This is where my friend Marianna makes the meals for everyone here though she does not prepare each meal as you might expect.”

The girls looked puzzled. So Victoria explained that the ingredients for the meal were written on a sheet of paper and placed on a shelf in a cupboard, the cutlery was placed at each setting. The heated meal could be taken from the shelf thirty minutes later. All the meals were placed around the table with drinks for each person. After they had finished the meal and left the room the plates were cleaned and stored for future use.

Victoria indicated each woman and said who she was as she left the chapel. Katie remarked on the appearance of each woman suggesting that the ankle length skirts and the off the shoulder tops looked like that it looked like what a gypsy woman might have worn over a hundred years before. As a woman came from the chapel Victoria introduced her as Maria, “She can track people that have wandered through water.”

As other women came from the chapel Victoria introduced each one and stated what ability they had, Carissa can track people through the air. Niamh possesses the gift of being a natural healer, Marnie can control the weather, Christina will if needed control Fire, Mallory will control all electricity, Gweneth has the gift of telekinesis, Christi will develop the power over any persons mind, even if that means to control it.

Victoria said she could know a persons thoughts, none of us are what could be titled as being a witch. Though we can control any aspect of a natural force. Wandering into the graveyard Victoria showed the girls how each of the graves was circular. “Each of the women was buried upright so that no grains of soil would get in their eyes.“ The women slowly walks ahead of them to a large pond beside the church.

The first problem they had to deal with was to discover was how a woman was found to have drowned in a river though there was no reason why she should have drowned. The reason was discovered quickly as a group of Catholics had caused a woman charged with being a witch had been dragged through the water from one side to the other side, when the woman stopped struggling she was said to be not in league with the Devil.

The Catholics were found to have inflicted death by burning after the Catholic religion had been banned from England by King Henry the 8th. The woman was given a Christian burial while those who had been found to have caused the woman's death had their skeletons exhumed from their graves then their skeletons put in a hessian bag then weighted and dumped in a river.

Sorry, I have lost the plot, literally. So I will have to start another fan fiction (The First Vampire) though it has little to do with Buffy and co., as of yet.
The hardest problem I face these days is either remembering the plot of the story OR knowing where to insert a (or multiples of characters) character from BTVS or ATS.
In an unorthothodoxical manner I may remember the likely hood of what I am writing about at a later date.
