A mistake in Halloween?

When I watched 'Halloween' on my friend's DVD I noticed something... In the scene where Angel is in kitchen and a vampire comes behind him and all that.... How did the vampire get invited in the first place? 😛 Or is there just something I've missed? 😛

yeah I think that might have been a silly blooper. That happens a lot in TV. lol.
probabley not a raeal vampire but someone who bought a costume from ethan hence they would not need to be invited in since technically they are not a real vampire

I don't know if that's quite right either. I mean I think they were as real in the costume as they could be. I'd have to watch it again... Really though Willow was really a ghost walk through walls. I'm going with it being a slip up. where was this in the show? at buffy's?
...racking memories and coming up empty. Like I said I'll have to watch it again.

But not everyone had costumes from the same evil Ethan shop.

I'm assuming this vampire/person did buy a costume from Ethan-- It seems to make the most sense it is an episode about people turning intio their costumes is'nt it?

Well yes I am sure everyone realizes that. What you're missing is the discussion that the REASON the vamp could come into the kitchen without being invited in was BECAUSE his costume was from Ethan's shop. Therefore it was a human in a costume turned vampire, and that's why they could walk in.

Who knows if this is true.

ProphecyGirl, if you're saying this could have been a regular vampire, then the blooper stands.

The reason the Ethan costume issue came up was it was speculation on how the vamp could enter.

Not saying it's true or not, but that's how this discussion was progressing. Nobody forgot there were vamps in the Buffyverse.
 
It was probably someone who bought a costume from Ethan...But then there's the question of, wouldn't he be as much a vampire as Willow was a ghost? Probably not, since he was there...or maybe it's someone from school that Buffy had invited in once? or maybe a kid that Joyce invited in if they came for candy, before he turned into a vampire? if Joyce was there, I can't remember where she was at the moment...
 
cool, i just watched this episode today! (btw best buy's got a wicked deal for buffy on dvd.. well i suppose select stores: i finally bought s1-s6 for $169 canadian, and i'm going through season 2. i'm sure most fans have got em already though!)

anyhow, i didn't catch that one, but i'm leaning towards the costume explanation. however, angel was willing to kill the vamp since he was asking for a stake, so did he just not know? or does that make the blooper more plausible?
 
Most likely the costume explanation.

Another thing is that, if Buffy became a sixteenth century girl, that means that the Buffy who lived there was currently non-existent. So maybe the vamp didn't need an invite because technically nobody lived there?

But I'm not sure about Joyce. That's a flaw. So my theory is most likley incorrect.
 
I go with the costume explanation. The whole Halloween episode was a spell created by Ethan. It was just an illusion. Xander wasn't a real soldier just as Willow wasn't a real ghost. It was all a manipulation. So, I guess that's why the vamp could come in uninvited.
 
Ditto about the costume.

If you look when Angel and Buffy are talking at the end in front of Cordy and Xander you can see the would-be Vamp in the background. He looks like a highschool student.

Also I think we saw him when everyone was picking up the kids from the high school.

For me i've always assumed that this guy was one of the victims of Ethan's costumes and not a real vampire. Therefore there is enough doubt as to whether all the vampire rules apply to him to mean that him entering Buffy's house becomes irrelevant. We can't say if a fake vamp would be refused entry, so therefore don't worry about it.

As for Angel being willing to stake him, i think it's fair to say that in all the chaos he may not have been fully up to speed with what was going on. Therefore he maybe was thinking this was an actual vamp. Hope for the guy's sake that there was anything wooden and pointy around in Joyce's kitchen or that is one costume that wouldn't have been used again next year! 😉
 
i think it is the costume explanation... it is an episode about ppl turning into costumes so that would explain that the vamp could get in since it wasn't techincally a demon
 
ha i didnt realise that, how did the vamp get in the house..... but yet again if you think.... the vamp was prob a kid ( eathan) so thats prob why the vamp blocking/ having to be invited thing didnt work ????
 
uh, didn't Angel stake him?
so, if it was in fact a kid under Ethan's spell, did Angel just kill a human?
