a new Buffy?

Well I think they could pull it off, if they set it up properly in S7.
 
oh no,no no no this won't do at all,let me put it in a way everyone will understand.SMG is buffy,always has been and always will be,finding an actress with he same wit,looks and skill will not happen,if sarah goes from the show,it will never be the same as it always has been,remember it's not just buffy the character,it's sarah the actress that makes us like the show along with the other actors and actresses,if sarah leaves the show,it will never be the same.
 
I think if Sarah leaves they should end the show but make a spinoff with Faith as the lead... she still has so many possible storylines left. Of course many of the other Buffy characters could be in her show, too.
 
Yeah,Quite sad but yet,The rumor is becoming reality and the word has it that Sarah is leaving Buffy..

Many hints have been leaning to that direction,Including the particular reason listed above,as well as Nich. Brendan,clueing us in on this situation on a muchmusic event...

It is quite dissapointing,But it`s going to be done some time..

yea the show can't go on forever..i just hope there can be another spinoff....like angel but with faith and the other scoobies or somethin cool like that...just no dawn the vps thats retarded...
 
I agree the BTVS would not be the same without SMG. If they decide to try a season without her and center the show around Dawn, I think I would be done. I think they only reasonable solution would be to give Faith a show. She's the only other slayer that I could watch week after week : )
 
I know, but one can hope. With Dark Angel, Witchblade, and Farscape being cancelled, all I got left is Buffy (and Angel). If those get canned, I might as well throw my tv out : )
 
Spoiler****s says that Sarah has signed on for two more years with a minimum of 18 episodes per season -- but that this has only been heard from one source.

This year could be a trial to see how both Dawn and Faith work out as successors. I think, for enough money, Eliza would be willing to have her own show.

I don't think they would cast anyone as another "Buffy" but that they would cast about for another lead. Enough people like the whole concept of the show, plus are interested in the supporting cast, that I think a sequel could work.
 
Whatever or whoever they decide to put in Buffy's shoes, I just hope that they finally decide that the Slayer should actually get paid by the Council just like the watcher does. I'm not really keen on another main character having to go out and fight for financial survival in a place like DMP. IF I want to see that kind of stuff I might as well suffer through some old eps of Married with Children.........
 
I could not watch Dawn as the slayer but if they cast the right person---maybe I would. It would have to be a good actress! LOL
 
Well I think Buffy has been done well and for long enough, they should finish at the end of S7, I the think that should be it. There is already one successfully spin-off (Angel) and another one planned with Giles based in Bath (UK). Why do another one people will start getting bored of it if they continue doing spin-offs, don't get me wrong I really enjoy both Buffy and Angel and the new Giles spin-off sounds intriguing but too much will get boring.

If a spin-off with Faith or a continuation using Dawn/someone else goes ahead then lets go the whole hog and do a spin-off with Spike too. Come on when would it stop.
 
I truly believe that season seven will be the last. Sarah wants to leave the show to start her movie career so I can't see how they can still call the show "Buffy." And who can we all thank for that? Well, the person who wanted Sarah to play Daphne on "Scooby-Doo" is the one responsible, IMO. Now the producers of that crappy film want to make two sequels with Gellar; not to mention offering a huge sum for doing it. Sadly, it's always about money.
 
With Joss' genius mind I'm sure he'll come up with something 2 continue the show! Let's all just hope he picks Eliza's Faith over Michelle's Dawn.
 
Are they talking about a new slayer? Are they talking about a new Buffy in general? Cuz either way would really suck. If SMG must leave the show, then the next best thing is to have Dawn take over for big sis. The next best thing to that would be to make Faith all good again, and resume the slayerdom.
 
So wich of those to is it now .... Dawn (who has no special powers) filling Buffy's shoe's ... or Faith on the Slay in Sunnydale instead of Buffy.
 
Geez, no offence to Dawn/Michelle fans but Dawn would suck at being the new slayer! I mean c'mon! If Sarah was to leave, the show is gone! Finished! And even if Faith comes back to Sunnydale it won't be that good without the "original" slayer. I mean, yeah I would watch the first ep of the new season (if Faith takes over) to see what it's like and if it's not good I won't watch it but if Dawn/Michelle took over I wouldn't want to watch it at all because I think if that happened, it would ruin the history of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" So in the end, once season 7 is over, I think that would be the end of Buffy...
( note: again to anyone who takes offence to this post, sorry, that's just my opinion.)
 
I agree with the Dawn/Michelle part it would **** with her on the slay, however I would still watch it, like a real fan is supposed to. And about Faith/Eliza she would do great if Joss (and the rest of the wrinting/directing team) put the same passion into the series as they always did, I'm sure they'll make us love it even without Buffy/Sarah!
