a new Buffy?

Yeah but I AM a real fan but I wouldn't watch anything that I don't enjoy but if they do go on without Sarah and have Michelle or Eliza to take the show under their wing, I would probably watch it. It all depends if the show will appeal to me or not. But I am and always will be a true fan of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"!

Hmmm, I do watch thing I don't like, not very often though, but I also watch episodes from Season 2, while I hate the B/A shipper.

I have no problem if SMG wants to leave the show. I get that. I also get that they (Joss & Co.) might want to continue the series. Which i would be up for. BUT, if SMG leaves, they need to end the series as we know it, as BTVS. Make another spin-off. Because I don't think it'd fly if it was called "BUFFY the Vampire Slayer" with no Buffy.

Maybe if it was just called "The Vampire Slayer" and there was a new slayer (preferably Faith, or another new slayer than Dawn) then it could be OK. I think if they had no Buffy they should lose the "Buffy" part altogether.

I couldn't handle an imposter Buffy though, I would hate that so much! Too many spin-offs seem a dumb idea too. To be honest the best idea would be to call it quits and end on a really high note!

This idea of a non-Sarah Buffy sounded crazy to me the first time I heard it, but after a while I got to thinking, "Hey, wait a minute...Maybe not".

When Sean Connery left the James Bond Series everyone said he neither could, nor would ever be replaced. That was 31 years ago, and there's still a James Bond.

There were 6 or 7 Doctor Whos. They still talk about bringing the character back for another go.

If they did decide to continue the character without SMG though, I personally would prefer a known actress to take the part over an unknown one. I think this would add credibility.

I would like to see someone like Kathryn Heigel, or Jennifer Love Hewitt, or Alicia Silverstone.

No, they can not have another actress take over. James Bond was a very different case, people never got as addicted to him, his personality didn't go that deep, and he had far less screen time, let's do the math.

there were 6 bond films with Sean Connery, they had an average runtime of 110 minutes
6*110=660 minutes

after this season, there will have been 144 BtVS episodes, they had an average runtime of 43 minutes
144*43=6192 minutes

This means, we have seen 10 times as much Buffy with SMG then 007 with Sean Connery. I've never heard of Doctor Who so we'll leave him for what he is.

There would however be one possibity, for Eliza to take over her role, check the following thread to see how:

I disagree Allycat. I don't have any URLs handy, but you should check out some James Bond sites.

From what I've read James Bond was a cultural phenomenom after the release of Goldfinger. Connery as Bond was an Icon. Believe it or not Bond was Bigger than Buffy. He was on the whole world's lips.

It's OK though I've changed my mind. I like Charmed Chosen One's idea now of a Faith-Buffy.

She spoke of it here

Ok, I've seen all James Bond movies so I know my stuff, but unfortunatly I wasn't there at the time, so I'll take your word for it that it was a pretty hard job, convincing them Roger Moore was good as well. .... And no, I do not want to hear the name George Lazenby! ... damn, just heard it!

So that worked out well, but is no prove that this will too, I have to call on my feeling this time (pretty much never misses) and can't really find an argument on why, but it won't work. I for one will not take it ... although I will keep watching 😀
