A New Challenge For Joss

Joss Whedon has said on several occasions that he loves new challenges, so I was wondering what your opinion would be of him writing a novel based on the Buffyverse? It wouldn't HAVE to feature previously established characters, but if it did, there wouldn't have to be any worries about which actor was still able to play their part, or even if they would be available to play them at all (Then again, an audiobook with the original actors doing their own characters would be great)

I know that there have been numerous novels written by various freelance writers using Joss' characters, but if Joss, himself, were to write one,especially if he verified that it was definitely canon, it would far outsell all of the non-canon books combined.

I think a real challenge would be to write a show that doesn't have a strong powered female, I think writing a comic would be harder then a book, as you have to widdle it down to just enough to tell the story, so I don't think he'd have a issue with a book.
