A new Stars Wars Trilogy

Apparently now that the orginial trilogy is being released and with Ep 3 nearly done. George Lucas is said to be thinking seriously about doing an Episode 7,8,9. And this comes from reliable sorces close to George. Personally i think that if he doesnt use too much CGI charachters i will be great and i've always wanted to see Anakin Solo on screen and the new Jedi Order etc.
What do you think?

I also know that George is still denying that he is going to do EP 7,8,9. But this above is what i've been told

Honestly? I'm expecting disappointment. I'd be more confident in the movies' integrity if George Lucas had as little to do with them as possible. You'll note that the original trilogy, eps 4, 5, and 6 were better loved by both audiences and critics. George Lucas only directed the first movie, and otherwise was only a producer and credited w/ writing the "story," not the screenplay.
In short, Star Wars is better depicted by other people. Its own creator either can't see the forest through the trees, or has waaaaaaaaay too much control and not enough self-control.
Don't get me wrong. I'll ever be thankful that such a wondrous imaginative universe was founded inside the bearded mind of ol' Lucas, but I don't believe he's executed the newest episodes with any real regard to actors' performances, screenwriting/storytelling/plot or just a "human feeling" in general. The Lord of the Rings is the new Star Wars, IMO.
 
Ep 1 was horrendous - I fell asleep. Ep 2 was an improvement, but the script was still shoddy, the acting not much better and the whole thing was smothered in CGI in the hope that we wouldn't notice. I don't expect Ep 3 to be any better... and should yet another trilogy be made, I would expect further dips in quality... All he's doing is ruining his own legacy, well that and making obscene amounts of money.

I have never been a fan of Halle Berry, looks and otherwise... The sooner she is gone, the better. She will be around for a long time though...

Whilst new Star Wars movies have been rather painful, they at least provided a lot of discussion both for regular film goers and for film nerds/film nerd wannabes (such as myself).

On the other hand, Hilary Duff and Lindsey Lohan are making movies like theres no tomorrow... Stop the madness!

I haven't seen Mean Girls... no..

The 8kgs of makeup freckly Lindsey Lohan applies makes her really appealing, yup... If you threw a bucket of water over her, I would imagine her making a similar exclamation to the witch from the Wizard of Oz.

I think I'll take Hilary Duff.
 
I've heard this rumour before..but it was ages ago. I don't know...nothing beats the original Star Wars trilogy.

Again, Star Wars thrives sociologically, mythologically, etc. better in the hands of most anyone other than George Lucas. The spread of his empire is built on the foundation (which is bizarrely solid) of geeks, dorks (i.e., the socially outcast) OR more specifically video gamers, comic book collectors, sci-fi novel readers, etc. I've enjoyed Star Wars ten times more as a video game than I ever will if movies like Eps. I and II continue issuing forth like so much pandering Hollywood excrement. :ufo:

As for Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff? I hate to be cruel, but I struggle to care . . . I've noticed that Sarah Michelle Gellar, infinitely more mature, never had, if any, of those typical teen star rivalries. I'll take her. . . Er, if Freddie doesn't keep her.
 
Well, I don't think many people care whether or not they release films... I was just messing.

I didn't realize there was a rivalry... what is it about? Who sucks the most? Ha ha ha, wheres my drum roll?

Anyways, whilst this may be considered to be blasphemy on this board, Sarah Michelle Gellar hasn't really been in much of worth either.
 
I think the Duff vs Lohan rivalry was drummed up by the media, like the Christina vs Britney one.

Anywho, Episode Two had one plus point, the crazy Yoda fight scene, gotta love that!
 
Apparently, Hilary and Lindsay are in competition, considering that they're both Disney alumni, and are making movies/music with very similar demographics in mind . . . but anyway, let's keep this on Star Wars, okay? Teen starlets get waaaaaaaay too much coverage (and not enough clothing, ironically) nowadays, anyway.

I agree! I only wish there was more of that and less of "Haydikin" and his Padme plaything. And I quote, rather squeamishly, " . . . I'm haunted by the kiss you shouldn't have given me . . ." :rolleyes1 :sick: :complain: : puke:

It's just like Ep I for me, wherein an ignominious amount of time was lavished on the laughable Jar Jar whilst menacing Darth Maul cavorted somewhere else in cinematic limbo and died after approximately eight minutes of screen time. . .
 
The Yoda scene was pretty **** in my opinion. Watching a 'lil computer generated rodent fly about like Sonic isn't my idea of a rollicking good action scene. I thought everyone was in agreeance that this scene was rather laughably executed.
 
That's what was so fun, it wasn't serious it was comical. Okay so maybe its not what you may want but made me chuckle. :happy07:
 
Yeah, it was comical, but before Lucas Disneyfied the series to the point it's reached today, it still had somewhat of an epic feel to it. Ridiculous moments such as these are really detremintal to what the film is trying to achieve. Can you imagine such scenes in Lord Of The Rings?
 
I dont think LOTR is all its cracked up to be. Yes its a good story but personally I blurred out. Im simple minded I'll admit so trying to keep track of what was going on was a bit difficult and im more a sci-fi then a fantasy anyway. The original trilogy (SW) was good, lets hope Ep3 is good.
 
I don't think LOTR is deserving of the praise it received. There were many problems I could point out, but I won't. At the end of the day, it's not an easy task to adapt LOTR to film and they did a decent enough job of it... heh, although I can't resist... Orcs = cockneys with dreads? Still can't get over that.

Anyways, I think that I, along with many others are past caring with Star Wars... Ep 1 was horrendous, Ep 2 had a chance to redeem the series and failed.
