A pidgeon just flew in my house!

There was this pidgeon in the hall at the community centre where i work, and i have this irrational fear of birds!! Well, mostly of anything that flies really...anyway!! This bird sort of swooped down and i ran screaming, literally. And about 20 kids didn't react to it at all. They were just like "oooh birdy!"..meanwhile i had ran out of the room and back upstairs.

So now all the kids make fun of me when we're outside and a bird passes, they just pretend to do what i did in the hall, and run screaming...bad times!!

OH! And another time there was a little brown bird on the school bus home, same thing happened,....i ran screaming...and people laughed...AGAIN!! What a cruel world!!

Oh and QC, if that had happened to me, i would have ran out the house and let the pidgeon keep it!! 😛

Oh Queenie! I know how you feel. I don't really like birds either. Especially pigeons, meh. Did your house survive it too?

Also, on a similar note, I have got a bleeding big cranefly (you know the ones that look like mosquitoes but are VERY BIG) in my room. Any ideas as to how I get that one out? It seems to like my room, it has been here for a day or two already :/

Get the vacuum cleaner and try to just suck it in. That's what I did that night when I had tons of insects in my room...through no fault of my own *cough*.

Rolled up newspaper, kill it.

Thing is, it's very fast! I tried hitting it with an old Vogue (they are heavy ^^) but I couldn't get it. And now it's in hiding under/behind my bed.. Maybe I should invite Renfield over?

About a year ago, my son's Persian cat caught a squirrel and got into the house with it before we could stop him. Once he got it inside, of course, it escaped, and there ensued a very frantic few minutes with my wife trying to restrain the cat while I chased the squirrel, with the eager assistance of our Boston Bull Terrier puppy. Eventually, we got it back outside and the dog under control, but that is DEFINITELY not the best way to start your day.

Update: I got it. With a little help of Rocksound Magazine. Kick ass metal kills all nasty bugs! (sw)

Anyway, this reminds me of a very sad story. My parents used to have a tame robin. That is, it wasn't actually tame, but it used to come in when my mum was cooking and then it stole bits of bread from the bread basket and stuff.

That's right, they USED to have it. One morning, my mum came down and heard a mousetrap snap, followed by a high pitched tweet. Guess what happened?
