A post-Chosen epilogue episode

Would you guys rather there was an extra episode at the end of Buffy to properly wrap up the characters' stories and at the same time explore the aftermath of what happened in Chosen?
 
Absolutely not. I think Chosen was the perfect ending for the show and I think it was beautifully done. There's not a single thing about that episode I would change if I could and there's no part of me who felt the show wasn't over after Chosen. Part of the point IMO was to leave some storylines open. I mean ending on "yeah what do we do now Buffy" sums it up and ends it perfectly.
 
The only thing I would change is having no Season 8. What a kick in the balls to some fans.

BtVS should have been left with Buffy's beautiful, hopeful smile with the audience imagining whatever they liked for the future of the gang.

I don't see what the point of leaving it like that was if they were just going to answer the question (and badly) in Season 8.

If anything I would have like a TV mini series or movie about some of the more minor characters, a strange combination like Xander and Spike, or Giles looking after a group of slayers Charlies Angel style.

If they wanted to properly wrap up the characters' stories in season 7, they wouldn't have ditched the Scoobies and brought in three dozen female extra's. So no. Too little too late.

I think it was great how it was. It gave fans closure, with Sunnydale being destroyed, no more Hellmouth, and it gave us the possibility to dream of more.

And I love how it just zooms in on Buffy smiling. Rare sight in season 7.

But I hate that Dawn gets the last line of the series.
 
I thought it ended well. I haven't read Season 8 (although I have most of it).

Season 7 has issues, but I still think it's brilliant. In fact, I'm going to watch it right now.

The one thing I would have changed was to give Anya's death more time. My son and I cried when she died and when Xander found out, but it could have even been better.

No. I think they should have continued Angel (past season 5) and should have produced the Faith spin-off with Spike, then have have the original Buffy cast only make small appearences on those shows. That would be (IMO) the ideal way to handle the show. I haven't started season 8 but I have all the trades so I am excited to see Buffy continue
 
I think that Season 7 ended perfectly just the way that it was. Having said that, however, I WOULD like to have a flashback episode at some point depicting how Buffy and her friends got from Season 7, Episode 22, to Season 8, Issue #1. There have GOT to be plenty of great stories in that lost time period.
 
The WB wanted to produce three Television movies of the Buffyverse, I think that probably would have been better. The fact that Boreanaz refused ended the talks 🙁

Stargate: SG-1 went the non-Theatrical film route after the cancellation, and I really liked what they accomplished. The movies weren't great by the series' standard, but the 1st showed the team defeating the two-season villain, and the 2nd showed that the team continued to go on missions even after the show and major conflicts had ended (reuniting 8 of the 9 principle cast members).

I'm a huge fan of Boreanaz' work, but the fact that Richard Dean Anderson had that much loyalty to his show, to return every year even after he'd retired showed a bigger celebrity making a bigger effort for a smaller franchise than Boreanaz was willing...

Almost certainly, David was trying to escape being typecast as "the guy who played Angel," and that's pretty much why he didn't want to do tha movies. It does seem rather ironic to me that he once again is starring in a series whose title is the name of the kick ass female star of show. Granted, his role in "Bones" isn't quite as subordinate to Bones as Angel was to Buffy, and the romantic element between the two hasn't, at least yet, gotten past the "if only" stage, but still the similarities between "Buffy" and "Bones" do exist
 
I don't know, Season 7 was a big let down for me, though I can't quite put my finger on why. Season 6 was so different (which wasn't necessarily a bad thing) that I thought 7 would bring back the witty writing and Scoobies again, but instead I felt like there was a hodge-podge of random events happening that wasn't really helping me follow. That said, I do think Chosen was the best way to end it as it was.
