It's something that was definitely inspired by Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but which is more directly linked to the virtual series Watchers(with inspirations ranging from The Tomorrow People to The Equalizer).

It took my landing in a hospital over a year and a half ago to be the spur I needed to kickstart this series of mine into action. And now, I'll soon get to tell its stories.

The series, titled Lone Wolves, is about a brother/sister team who battle to keep humanity safe from anything that threatens the planet...ranging from vampires and demons...to worse. They have no Slayer powers of their own, but they have smarts...and a lot of kick ass technology. And they have one major ace in the hole...but that would be telling...😉

Episodes of the series start unfolding in January on VBC Network. If you want to take a look(not just for my show, but everything they've got), go here...

VBCtv - Your home for original V-TV Entertainment.

Also, I've set up a Yahoo group that serves as a satellite to the show where you can talk about the stories, etc. Here's the link for that...

(You'll need to have a Yahoo account in order to sign up.)

I look forward to seeing other BB'ers.

Right on brah, right on!

okay, so my question is it like animated? computer animated or what? how is it voiced? says it starts in January, is it weekly, monthly or what? more details if you got them

In order:

1. No, it's not animated or voiced. Basically, it's done in script form(though both sites have photos of the actors I cast for the series-and if you want to hear how the actors sound, just put their name into YouTube and you'll see clips of them in action. Just not here. 🙂 ). Just about every series on the site works in that manner. They've got every genre of show you can think of...lot of sci-fi/fantasy, plus some comedies, dramas...as well as a little bit of pro wrestling. They're still working on a start date, so I can't pin down the exactl day it's starting.

2. It'll be weekly. I'm planning a season of 10-13 episodes(but plan for the high end); my goal is to approach the standard of pay cable and British series in terms of episodes. The first season is virtually plotted out in my head, with ideas to take it into season 3. (Which reminds me...if you'd love to write for the series, drop me a line!)

Thank you.

I will confess, I'm not exactly a pro when it comes to writing, but I'm working at it. All I can hope for is to write a series that people(regardless of how many...or few...there are)enjoy.

That's all a writer is looking for.

True enough.

If I had to give some things to watch to for in the series, based on what's done so far...

1. A lot of technology(since the leads don't have Slayer abilities, they have to rely on their physical abilities...wits...and their powers to fight the bad guys).

2. The dialogue. It can get snarky at times, especially from Derek(think of him as a collision between Robert McCall(the hero of the 80s series The Equalizer)and Dr. House).

3. The bond between the 3 leads kind of reminds me at times of the relationship between Kirk, Spock and McCoy from the original Star Trek...as much as they bicker and banter, there is always respect between the three.

That's way awesome. And it's awesome you saw it through, like Buffy Summers said. I have ideas like that all the time, but lack the patience and time to really sit and work on it.

It's now four weeks in(a new episode is up)...and the ratings are in for January.

Turns out Lone Wolves is....#2 overall on the network. (It's in terms of how many hits each episode receives in the first week that each episode is live. The first episode received 79(next to bottom, but still respectable), followed by a 82(I think LW was the ONLY show to make any sort of gain week-to-week) and then a 61(a drop, BUT the #2 show of the week). On average, 74 people are taking a look at each episode.)

I am impressed and happy beyond words that people are deciding to click and read my show. Let me just say...thank you. And continue to enjoy the ride!

congratulations!
Right about now, my heart is absolutely broken. :sad24:

A few hours ago, I found out that VBC-the virtual network that hosted Lone Wolves-was asked to shut down; apparently, from my understanding, while in the process of moving all their stuff from the old server to the new, everything was lost-there were no backups. Plus, a couple of entertainment conglomerates(who will remain nameless, because I may be violating TOS if I mention them; I'm mad enough to swear a blue streak at them)lodged a challenge...they felt that there was some copyrighted material...right now, I don't know or care. All I know is this: A series that I busted my ass on for the better part of a year plus is gone...all because some frakking bean counters thought there was some copyrighted material.

Rest assured, though: The whole gang WILL be back. Where, I don't know. I've made inquiries...and, if worse comes to worst, I'll post the eps as they're done to my Yahoo group.

Thanks for letting me vent, gang.

I'm sorry to hear that.. but you are wrong when you say "A series that I busted my ass on for the better part of a year plus is gone" because it's not. You did it.. you got an audience and next time you will not question IF you can do it like you did this time. It's not gone.

All of that is true.(Thank heaven I backed up the scripts for it! 🙂 )

And I'm actively looking for a new home for it. I've already got 2 virtual networks in mind. With me, it's more a question of WHEN the show will return than IF.

Well...long story short, I tried to find a virtual network for the show...but, in the end, the folks behind the virtual series Watchers came to the rescue and got a subsite set up for the series.

To get there, head on over to Movies Template and see their work for yourself.

Episodes will be appearing soon.

And I come to now find out that VBC will soon back up and running.

A good surprise, to be sure...but at least NOW I have a backup.
