A Question about Spike

white avenger, I think your right about that, and with Darla being gone, Dru had all of Angelus' attention, which made Spike's hatred even more focused and intense. Dru being Spike's destiny and all.

I think it's more that Spike has always been desperate for approval from Angelus, and hates him cuz he wont get it.

He probably though Angelus would be impressed with his gang and what they were doing, but instead Angelus waltzed in, took over the gang and got Spikes girl, demoting Spike down the position he's always in, number two.

Spike seeking approval, kind of like his human self was doing with poetry. Which made Drusilla's initial attention all the more important. She recognized his potential before anyone.
