A Question For Pet Owners

If you share your life with a pet, did you get it anything for Christmas?

Our two dog asked that we not exchange gifts this year, since they've been so busy playing with my grandson that they hadn't had time to do any shopping, but I still couldn't resist getting them new collars and a couple of baked beef bones.

Our dog died 2 weeks before Xmas. 🙁 This was in between my husband's aunt's death and his grandmother's death. Then today we realized the goldfish are dead. Geesh!

My mom loves wine, and no she isn't an alcoholic, so I bought a wine bottle dog toy on Amazon.

Needless to say, the dog doesn't quite know what to make of it. Which is really weird because he loves squeaky toys.

It was my Dogs first Christmas, I got him a stocking with loads of treats in in, A Santa bouncy ball, this massive goose teddy that is about the same size as him - it managed to last for a full 24 hours before he ripped it!
And a squeaky Christmas dog bone toy!

When we still had our dog, we used to get her a box of pet cookies and a new toy for Christmas every year. 🙂

I wanted to but we decided against it this year. I felt we could have put our money to something else. Although many times I almost bought our little guys a few snacks and a Frank'n weenies toy.

We have a golden retriever and he has his own stocking, which usually gets filled up with dog treats and a sleeve of tennis balls every year. He's pretty happy.

Our old golden retriever, Cash, passed away on December 10 last year, pretty much right before Christmas. He was really my Mom's dog and she was hit pretty hard by it, so on both Christmases since we've had a little thing for him. My Dad created a big frame of a bunch of Cash's pictures right from when he was a puppy, and we take our new dog on a hike through the mountain that Cash used to love. It's actually been really nice.

Now I feel like a losy mom 🙁 I didn't get my babies anything. Well I bought them their lil bacon treats... does that count?

Yeah, I got my puppy a bunch of new toys and some treats. Mostly to distract him while we were opening presents so he didnt try to run off with anything or chew the wrapping paper, haha.

But he hasn't really had time to enjoy his new toys. He got hit by a car three days ago 🙁 The crazy little bugger got out and just ran off like lightening, we couldn't catch him! He made it really far. We were really lucky that somebody found him after he had been hit and took him to the vet.

We were also really lucky that he didn't break anything and is relatively okay. We just got him home today. He is dirty, he's lost weight and he is covered in bandages, stiches and antiseptic but he is alright. Totally freaked out and in a lot of pain though, poor baby 🙁

I got both of mine a Dog stocking each with had a variety of treats and a rope chew toy.

I wrapped some treats for my dog - hoofers and snouts etc that she loves and then she got some activity toys and from my mother and other family members she got some new stuffed animals that she loves to play with as well as some other rawhide treats

My dog didn't give a crap about the presents when the scraps came out, he had 3 days of Turkey, Ham and gravy for dinner and now he's turning up his nose at his regular food!

I got my wee cat, Floyd, a packet of tuna flavoured treats (which I throw and he happily chases them across the floor), and another catnip mouse. He loves catnip mice. He always looks so proud of himself when he pounces on one and 'kills' it 🙂

I never get my cats presents because theyre cats and theyre selfish little somethings lol. Sometimes I give them special food on holidays lol

white avenger agrees: Cats were worshipped as gods in ancient Egypt, and they seem never to want to let us forget it. One of the main reasons that I'm 100% dog person. Dogs literally personify love, loyalty, and devotion.

I need my animals to not be needy lol I need to be the needy one and then with cats they just look at me like I'm annoying and its a good balance. lol

Mostly, my dad thinks our dog should get dog treats for Christmas or for the dog's birthday. My dad can be kind of ridiculous like that. Oliver definitely doesn't need treats.

My horse got carrots and got to stay out of her yard for a couple days since I was away. She is not very happy with me now though as I have barely given her any attention (its been too hot to ride and I was away for a few days) Going for a new years ride tomorrow, if I fall off I know she hasnt forgiven me LOL.

I have a 6 months old kitten..my baby Keira. I wanted to buy her a new playground but we don't have the space so I just post-poned her gift for when she'll be a bit older and I'll buy her a new place to sleep..she has a lovely little house with fur now that she's so little but she'll outgrown it soon.

I couldn't even give her treats cause she's little and she had some problems in the stomach department.

Yes, I got Romeo a bunch of different treats that will take him the next few months to eat lol and a bunch of new toys, some of which he's already torn holes in but at least he loves them.
