I agree. It's like in my school, where it's okay to be a communist or an anarchist but not a Republican. I mean, if someone said they liked Bush, everyone would know it was a joke. (I don't know how it became this way but the teachers are of course working against it.) For Democrats in Hollywood, declaring their political status is nothing. Almost everyone is Hollywood is a Democrat. Apparently, it's the "it" thing. Look at Ben Affleck and countless other stars.
But when a celebrity announces that they're Republican, that's a different matter. Republicans aren't looked at very nicely in this sweeping Democratic-majority.

That'd be interesting to know how many are actually Republicans, and who is really that upfront about it.
But you can't deny that Hollywood is a majority Democratic industry, and some people do get flamed for their political ideas.
Well, it all depends on where you live, what values the people around you have and why you say what you do. I have a lot of opinions that would probably be called "radical" by some, and that would be courageous to talk about around some people. But considering my friends' values, I am not brave or special at all to have the values I have. At my school/around my friends, to talk about what Bush is doing wrong, it a huge cliché.. But if someone actually said that they agreed with some of the things Bush said, or that they liked Britney Spears, or capitalism.. I probably wouldn't agree with their values (except on the Britney thing, heh) but it would be something different, and I'd respect that they had their own opinions about things. There is nothing I hate more than people who believe they're all different and original around people who have the exact same values as they do.. argh.. it just makes me crazy how people walk around pretending to have their own opinions while they believe everyone who likes money are crazy (yeah, cause that's what you're "supposed" to believe).
