So we all have a least favourite character or two, but are their any scenes/episodes that you actually really like them in? One's where you go 'I actually get why other people love this character so much'?

I'll start:

Anya: Almost any scene in S5 involving Anya in the Magic Box. It was an inspired idea to employ her character there- a realistic way to have her interact with anyone who wasn't Xander.
Specifically I like her in 'Triangle', 'Checkpoint' and 'The Gift' where she's coming up with all the Glory-fighting ideas that have been scattered throughout the season; Dagon Sphere, Troll Hammer, Buffybot. 🙂

Andrew: Almost all of 'Storyteller' (I don't enjoy his blubbery ending, in hindsight its shallow), his awesome description of Faith in 'Dirty Girls' (leading to her hysterical fictional fight with a Vulcan...) and his interactions with Angel Investigations in 'Damage' (again, not really the ending where he gets all righteous, but everything else.)

Anyone else?

My least favorite character must really be Riley. I just can't stand him... I think I dislike him that much that I've been sitting here for a while thinking of a scene involving him that I like and I can't think of anything.

I'll get back to this when I remember a scene that I like 😉 Or help me out: nice scenes with Riley in it?

Nice scene's with Riley in (that I remember):

Punching out Parker Abrams! 😀 (Although this was blatant manipulation to make us all like him it worked pretty well...for a moment or two.)
I like him in most of 'Hush'- especially that look when he sees Buffy kick a creepy demon across the room!
Going against everything he knows in the Initiative to rescue Oz?
Him and Buffy playing football on the beach in 'Buffy vs. Dracula'. Cute couple scene.
I for one like him in 'As You Were'. Don't like anything else about the episode, but he's cool.

That's all I got.

I'm in the same predicament with Riley, I just don't like the guy! Can't really think of many seen where I really like him, but the scene where he is play fighting with Xander jumps to mind. I like that Xander had a bromance with Riley.

I did like the Riley-Angel-Buffy interaction in 'The Yoko Factor', but I think it's mainly Buffy that makes it funny. (What with her and threatening to put them in the hospital!)

The scene in The Body where Tara is helping Willow to dress herself. It's the only time outside of season 4 that Tara felt 'real' to me.
The only other character I dont like I could not think of a redeeming scene for, that being Andrew.

as an aside: it's not that I dislike Tara (as I do Andrew) it's just I think the character was really pigeonholed from being a fully realized character in season 4 to simply being 'willows girlfriend' and a one-dimensional character in season 5 onward

What about Joyce?
Season6-Willow when Tara tells her the truth about Buffy and Spike
Angel when he is willing to die to save Darla's life
Xander when he makes the 'you are extraordinary' speech to Dawn

Warren Mears getting shot and flayed. It was wrong but it was so right!

Hey now, that's not fair- Warren didn't DO anything there. Dark Willow did all the heavy lifting in that scene. 😀

But when Warren is arguing with the other nerds about which Bond is best (I share his utter disdain for Moonraker) that is the only time I liked him.

Lorne: (yeah, I don't hate Lorne exactly, but I don't really care for him/find him that interesting either. He's just there, except...)
In 'Happy Aniversary' (which I've just watched) he's pretty darn good. He has a nice double act with Angel, and his words of advice about love to the physicist guy makes me wish he'd gotten some love on the show- sometimes.
Plus I like how he treated baby Connor, and how he was genuinly hurt that teenage Connor was bigoted towards him. Also his reaction to Fred's death- he was mostly wasted in S5 but he was good here. Plus, 'I heard you sing'.

Harmony: The slow-motion fight with Xander, All her scenes in 'Real Me', and 'Disharmony'. After that...nothing.

I forgot about Lorne.. Lorne and Andrew.. the two worst characters.

Warren begged, pleaded, and made ugly comments - I like the scene where he gets his comeuppance. Yeah, Willow did the work but Warren finally couldn't wriggle out!
@thetopher He gives good squirm. There are scenes I wouldn't like in reality, and characters I would probably loathe but in this place and in this time this is definitely A Scene That You Like Involving Your Least Favourite Character

But do you LIKE him in this scene is my point. Seems to me that you like what's done to him. ;)
Whatever that scene is in ATS when Angel asks Harmony what she misses most about being human and she says 'my heart'. It's the only time Harmony ever felt like a real person, a real character, and not a caricature. It's also the only time I think Mercedes' acting was in any way decent.

I forgot about that. Yes, that felt real.
Pretty much the entirety of "Fool for Love" is this for me regarding Spike. Can't stand him from season 4 onward, but I love that episode. It's very bizarre.

As thetopher said, Storyteller was pretty much the only good episode where I liked Andrew. I'm mad that he got an episode all to himself when some of the main cast didn't even get one in s7, but at the very least it was a good one.

Still waiting to see someone mention a scene with Kennedy 😛 Come on, I know you guys hate her!

That's fine- I get that- but my first post does go on to clarify the title by saying when do you really like a character and get what other people see in them. 🙂

Which is why I'm currently twiddling my thumbs thinking about Kennedy...😛

I dont dislike Joyce. Really the only characters I dislike are Andrew and Lorne.. I 'dislike' Tara only because I thought she could have been more than simply an ornament for Willow.
