Okay, so a while ago, I encountered this exoplanet LTT9779b, which is an ultrahot Neptune, meaning it's about the size of the planet Neptune in our solar system, but it orbits its own sun, LTT9779, a red dwarf, at a strikingly close distance. One of its 'years' is about seventeen hours duration our time. As a consequence, it rains silicates and liquid titanium within its atmosphere. This means that its reflective albedo would be incredibly high if we were in its planetary system. And then something clicked.
A shiny 'happy' planet, eh? So should we start an International Astronautic Union write in campaign from Buffy/Angel fandom to get it named Jasmine?
Or would Illyria be more appropriate, given its somewhat ferocious surface conditions? Any other suggestions? Glorificus?
