A Slayer's Burden

when i was younger and watched buffy i used to think it would be cool having superpowers and kicking evil butt. but know it's more to it fighting hideous demons and monsters and just being a young girl it must be hard look at the slayer's before buffy. like NIKKI WOODS who didnt have friends to help and on top of that a son. the thing is if i was a slayer i wouldn't take up the responsibility it's to much to ask ONE girl in ALL the WORLD to fight evil and on top of that you could become active at any time plagued by visions of past slayer's seeing them die that could be horrorifying to a person look at dana a girl who was already truamatized as a child then given this power and mantle you didn't ask for. if i were one i'd live my life just as usual i'd help those i saw in trouble but going out looking for it like buffy does i just couldn't what about you guys

You'd have to though. go out and patrol. You are trained to do so. you begin training just by being a potential, even if you aren't called... or at least in some cases you are. From what it seemed to me, some were aware of being a potential and were trained early, and some were not. Either way, you can't just sit back and help only people you see in need. If it were me, alone, and most likely wouldn't be in the situation buffy was (remember, it was REALLY odd fo her to have friends in on this and to have a life, and even if my friends were, who says they are going to wanna risk their lives and help?) I'd have to go out and do everything i could with as much effort as possible as yes, itd be me, alone.

Buffy was lucky, she had much much more support than any other slayer in the past did.
