A song seems to be missing in "Once More With Feeling" OST!

Hi guys!

new to the forum, so nice 2 meet ya! I was once in a buffy-verse or Buffy & Angel forum years ago when I was still watching the series for the first time. Dunno if it's this one or not , but it sure is the most similiar one 🙂

Anyway, the true reason of this thread:

I've purchased the Buffy OST for the musical episode "Once More With Feeling", and I noticed there seems to be a song missing...

It is the one where the musical demon Sweet is singing to Dawn in his lair after kidnapping her.

it's about 25 min in the episode.

for those of you still ain't sure what song i'm referring to, i'll write some lyrics of it:

Sweet: "why do you run away? don't you like my...style...?"
"why don't you come and play? I guarantee you a great big smile.."
"I come from the imagination and i'm here strictly by your invocation, so what do you say, why don't we dance a while?"

Hope it's clear enough, anyway it seems to be missing! either i'm wrong and really clumsy and I just didn't find it, or it really is missing.. which is a shame cause it's a very good song.

If that's the case i'll be a huge bunch of thankful to the person who could get me the song!

Its right after Dawns Lament, so you should have it.

Its actually my favourite song on the album.

Hinton Battle is brilliant.

Sorry...but I really don't get your first sentence. Am I missing something here?

Anyway, on the OST the song is track number 10, and is called What You Feel. It actually comes after Dawn's Ballet, not Dawn's Lament, but that's an easy mistake to make.


EDIT: I got it just after I posted.... never mind the first bit.
 
hmmm curious..

It seems there are two versions of the OST (just a speculation of mine) because Dawn's song is called "Dawn's Lament" also in my OST....

and I found the song! it's num. 12 in my OST and it's called Sweet's Song!

Weird huh?...

On my OST it is also Dawn's Lament. So it must just be that one cd that's wrong, lol. Kidding. Maybe.

it's called Dawn's Lament on my version too...and Sweet's Song.

has this got something to do with American and UK versions?
 
Maybe.

Before they had a real CD I had downloaded the tracks, which I like a lot better because the spoken word bits of songs are there but they aren't on the official CD.

okok now I gotta confess, I too have downloaded the OST.... just didn't know how much you guys are strict here on buy-or-die when it comes to Buffy stuff... :whistle:

and i'm glad I did! I also like the spoken words.. a shame they cut it from the original.
 
I'll admit that I downloaded my copy of the OST too and I have Dawn's Lament AND Dawn's Ballet as tracks 8 then 9 and What You Feel as track 10

But hey, if it's all the same songs does it really matter what the name's are when you're dancing like a spazz? hehe
 
I have both versions.

As has been listed above, one has:

Dawn's Lament - Track 8
Dawn's Ballet - Track 9
What you feel - Track 10

The other has:

Dawn's Lament - Track 10
Sweet's Lair - Track 11
Sweet's song - Track 12
