As I leave the hallowed halls of Bangel-ness to once more return to the Elysium that is the Land of Spuffy, I would like to express my gratitude for those devotees of the Buffy/Angel philosophy who took me in, sheltered and supported me, and, even, yes, it's true, confessed to me in all confidence that only peer pressure keeps them from joining the ranks of Spuffy. You know who you are, and you know that I will always be here for you when you finally come out of that dank, dark Bangel closet and venture out into the sunlight of Spuffy. We don't judge here aboard the good ship Spuffy. We're a happy crew, and "One for all and all for one" is our song. Our ship may be crowded to overflowing, but we will always find room for a few more shipmates.

To my comrades in the Spuffy ranks, I hope that you have missed me as much as I have missed you, and I look forward to telling you all about my time in what we have always thought of as the Bangel Ghetto. Amazingly, during my time there, I learned some things about Bangels that I had never really known before, and I'm sure that a lot of you, my Spuffy brothers and sisters, will be just as surprised to find out as I was. To begin with, the Bangels are just people, no better or worse than we ourselves are. Just as loyal, just as honorable, and just as devoted to and supportive of their ship. Disillusioned, of course, and misguided, certainly, but still good people. Not the enemy, not monsters. And during my time among them, the seed of an idea began to take root and grow, in idea that I would like to propose tou here and now, because there is no real time like the present/

We can, (inconceivable as this might seem to you, and, believe me, the realization was a shock to me as well) join forces with the Bangels to stamp out the upstart Cangels, Billows, and Banders before they are allowed to take root like weeds in a garden. We can put aside our common differences and stand together against a common foe, and, in so doing, we may actually win more recruits to our side. I know that this is a radical thought, and one that will take some getting used to, but, believe me, it is a good and workable plan, and, with work and co-operation from all concerned, success can most certainly be ours.

I have left some friends and allies among the ranks of the Bangels (dare I say spies?) who will keep me privately informed of any covert activities there, so we have no real fear of betrayal. We will know long before any suck plan of theirs could ever reach fruition. But we will speak of these things in greater depth later. For right now, the drinks are on me. and, as Spike would say, "I'm back, and I'm a bloody MONSTER!!"

WA, oh how Ive missed you! We Spuffies welcome you home! Interesting thought about banding together.....down with the Banders! I have a hard time believing that these bangelers are *gasp* people . I thought they were mutants 😛 Good to hear you had a good time on the dark side but even better to have you back 😀
 
Not only are they people, they're NICE people. It's not really their fault that people look down on them because they choose to support the wrong ship. I honestly believe that if we show them patience and respect, they can become useful members of society, and I further believe that more than a few of them can be successfully rehabilitated. We could start a "Bangels Anonimus," and have weekly meetings. Just imagine this.

"Hello, my name is Kean, and I haven't had a Bangel thought in 27 days. With the help of my friends, I believe that I can make it..."

It brings tears of joy to my eyes just thinking about it. It'll be a long road, and tough for the travelers. The withdrawal pains will seem almost unbearable. But with the help and love of good, caring, committed Spuffies, there is definitely help possible for our Bangel friends.

And of course there will be those diehard holdouts who will have to be dragged, kicking and screaming, into the light, but if our resolve is strong, our patience is unlimited, and our love knows no bounds, we can, my fellow Spuffies, rescue our Bangel brothers and sisters from the clutches of their delusions.

We have a dream.

I love you, Miss K, and I am here for you. Together, we will get you through this initial time of shock and stress. You risk everything in order to become a better person, and you CAN be a better person. You may not see it, but I do. I do.
 
So those of us who are Cangel/Banders are just doomed to walk alone for eternity shunned by all? Lepers to the public, a shunned minority good only for scraps and manual labor?

I know that I speak here for the majority if the Spuffies if not the entire hoard when I say that we will welcome you with open arms and try just as hard to help you as we will any poor misguided Bangel. Remember, we are not your enemies, we are the paths to your enlightenment. We are even willing to meet you half way. You can keep your Cangel, but the Bander HAS to go.

I understand completely. As I said at the beginning of this thread, peer pressure and the fear of venturing out into new territories, re-evaluating values that you have clung to for so long, and accepting new truths can prove traumatic. The Spuffy community is here to help, to give you comfort, renewed self confidence, and to lead you out into the light. We are not your enemies, we are your saviors.

Oh gosh, this is so amusing to read and check back to see WA's or Kean's latest comeback.
I must agree with WA we spuffies will gladly support you--ahem once you come to your senses and stop allowing this terrible peer pressure WA speaks of. 😛

You will always be the rose in my flower garden, Miss K, and roses have thorns. I wouldn't have you to change that one single bit. And because you hold that special place in my heart, I simply can't stand by any longer and see you shrouded by the darkness and gloom that is Bangel, when you could be flourishing in the glorious sunlight of Spuffy. I realize that a hard task lies before me, but I have now seen first hand the gloom and doom of Bangel, and I would be remiss as a friend if I were to abandon you to such a fate. Help is here, Miss K, you will be rescued. Just sustain yourself with that knowledge until the dream becomes reality.
