Think back to the Angel season 1 finale "To Shanshu In LA". The prophecy in that episode stated that as a reward, the vampire with a soul would become human. Since Angel was the only vampire with a soul at the time, everyone naturally assumed this meant him. What if the prophecy referred to Spike?

The "apocalyptic battles" mentioned in the prophecy could mean the war with the First. Also, the trigger that made Spike turn evil could be considered his "darkness", which the vampire with a soul must survive.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I think they should both become human it would be better... everyone thought it was Darla but i really hope that Spike and Angel become human say the very ever last episode of Angel.. coz it would be unfair if just one became human... they both deserve there reward...

I suppose the counter-point to my own argument is that recent events in Angel also fit the prophecy from "To Shanshu in LA". The "darkness" could refer to the disappearance of the sun from Los Angeles. There was also something mentioned about "plagues". Weren't the rain of fire and perpetual darkness two of the ancient plagues of Egypt?

I'm contradicting my own argument here, aren't I? But it's still an interesting thought. I guess the meaning of the prophecy can be interpreted either way.

no-matter how it is written the show is famous for twisting things to fit its current situation i have learned that all past phrofecies mean nothing if they dont fit at the time they are manipulated to fit as need be they always find away to make things point to what is currently wanted anyway

hey i got to agree that would be pushing it a little to far but mind you some of the crap i've heard is too far also so let us hope that buffy ends with dignity

😀 I love your theory. I think the propercy very well could belong to Spike. considering when shashu to L.A first air, they were still doing cross overs, therefore the shashu was for either show.

Question: W&H are evil. Angel suppose to play a part in the apocalypse . W&H want to keep Angel alive because of his part in the "apocalypse " (that's why they didn't kill him)

My question is what part do Angel actually play in the apocalypse? If W&H are evil, wouldn't they want to kill him if his part is good?🙂

i think his part was evil and is done birth to conor and making it available that conor and cordy would be pushed towards each other befor the master took controll of her body just befor jasmines birth conor was starting to see something wasnt right about cordy so they had to be pushed together befor she was evil somehow(explains why she lost her memory or she wouldnt have slept with him) or he would have figured it out befor jasmines birth but thts just my opinion
