You stake a Vampire in the heart and they go puff. Buy why should their clothes turn to dust aswell? The reason Vampires turn to dust is because their hearts are staked. The heart is connected to the body so they turn to dust. But the clothes are not connected to the Vampire they are just layers of clothing on the body. This is basicly just a rant.

I do believe that Joss said something about this but Im not sure where or what he said. But I dont think its a stupid thing, its like burning I guess, you burn your clothes burn along with you. But one thing I did notice that necklaces and rings dont go poof like the clothes do.

I thought the same about reflections. It's the vamp that can't reflect, not the clothes. So shouldn't we see clothes just floating there?

I noticed this too. Thats a good point. They messed up a bit. And sometimes you notice that the stakes go poof. Not alot, but once the stake goes poof. I cant remember the eppie!

Apparently if the stake is still in the body at the time of dusting it goes poof too. If it is withdrawn it remains in this world.
Angel explained the reflection thing (can't remember where). It isn't the flesh of the vampire that doesn't cast a reflection, it's the essence (whatever that is). Seeing as we don't know exactly what the essence is, I guess we can say it includes clothes.
Another interesting one that's often discussed (even Andrew brings it up); If you can't see a vampire's reflection, how can you take it's picture?

Coz it'd be a pitty not to have Angel pics?? 😉 I agree with nerd4hire's explanation about clothes..as for stakes hmmm...not sure but after all only Joss knows it for sure..or he's still making up answers to all those obssesive fan questions🙂

Cordy explained photographs. While you cannot see vampires in the camera their photograph is taken because the only mirrors used as so that you can see the picture, when you take a photograph the shutter opens and burns the light onto the negative, thus no mirrors (okay I added my photography knowledge to that). I think it was meant to be explained in the pilot that the reason clothes don't go are because of the vampire's essence (which I guess surrounds them) is killed and the clothes are part of that. The real reason is because it'd be awkard to keep leaving dusty clothes around but thats the Buffyverse reason.
