why isn't there a fat friend...i dont think there was even a fat classmate when she was back in high school...Tara does not count cause she was bangin...but im talkin bout a visible gut...xander doesn't count too cause he doesn't look fat with a shirt on...
 
a friend that is fat brings a dose of reality to a show that claims to be realistic in social relationships...
 
Why are all the actors hot? I mean all the guys consider the female cast hotties, and vice versa for the girls!

So, I ask you, why aren't there any ugly cast members?
 
She was also fat!

But then how come these are all 'bad' guys or loser characters?
 
Ok if you were casting for a TV show would you cast people that were attractive or people who werent. Im not being funny but ratings will always be better if people want to sleep with the cast.
 
Being a fat person, I always thought there should have been someone a little heftier on the show. But, just because there isn't doesn't mean I like it any less. I just think it would have been more realistic. Or maybe all the Scoobies are just really superficial and don't associate with anyone that isn't good looking! 😛 /joke
 
I think that yes, because everyone is good looking and of avergae weight etc, it is a bit unrealistic but, to be honest, id rather watch a good-looking cast than an ugly one, however shallow/superficial it sounds...

Out of the whole cast of a show I don't think it would be unreasonable to have ONE person who wasn't perfect - even if they were just a recurring extra or something! And being overweight doesn't automatically mean UGLY (has anyone ever watched Popular?)
 
being fat doesn't mean ugly..just that the theres more weight to go around...even at graduation...i seen not one fat person in her entire class...why not have one...
and having one fat person won't drop ratings for a show that already has low ratings...at this point only people into buffy cause of the intangibles are watching now...cause SMG ain't the hottest thing on tv anymore...
 
Has anyone seen the unaired pilot. Willow was a chubby girl in that. But anyways I reckon the LA people are all a bit loopy and weight obsessed....NO OFFENCE to any LA people. I mean the ones in the business of course. I mean just look at SMG. I mean yeah she looks hot (God that is such a guy expression but I have to admit she does look good *she says with a hint of envy in her voice*) and fair enough she's workin out a lot cause of her work but come on she doesn't honestly want us to believe that she became THAT thin just by doin all that excercise....I say this with the utmost respect as I think she has a killer body but compared to season one and two she is yadda yadda yadda...

will stop now cause I think everyone got my drift......
 
hell yeah SMG looked hella better in season 1 before she turned too skinny...it seems that she had some pressure to lose some weight after the seasons went on...i would've preffered that she gain some muscle than lose the weight...

i wish one of the good guys would have a little weight...

I loved it! But I can't really say that I found Ron Lester atractive (ok, so he's guy!) and the one, who played Carmen Ferrera (sp?) ... thanks, but no thanks ... Come to think of it, there were a lot of not so hansom cast-members ... still I loved the show!

BTW: Did you know that Harrison plays the ghost of a that one student, James, in 2.19 "I only have Eyes for You"?
 
It'd obviously be more realistic to see an overweight person in there but i dont really mind one way or another. I do think the stars should be reasonably easy on the eye though, for commercial purposes and i, i know its maybe not PC, but i prefer watching good-ish looking people - its the truth.
 
I don't think it would be so much realisitic as pretty much discriminate, sort of "here's the token fat person", if they just got plonked in for that reason. So many LA/ American/ just general succesful actors and actresses are thin because there is that pressure on them, so it would likely be difficult to find someone with a larger weight! Look at Matt leBlanc and Matt Perry in friends; each has put on weight, and has been told in no uncertain terms to lose it
 
talking about tokens...what about the token black girl...its not about having tokens...its about having some falkin normal looking people on buffy..
 
Angel and Xander cannot be really considerd fat, but are sure chubby, does that count?
 
to be honest if they were fat it wouldnt make sense
theyre constantly fighting/running/training/not sleeping theyre jhardly going to be above average weight waht wth the extreme lifestyle
granted in the begininngin of the series they could have had a larger sized cast member sure
but it just wouldnt make sense
plus hotness sells
which sucks but hey, i didnt make society i just go along with it
