Abortion

What point are you trying to make with this, exactly?

Btw, I wasn't comparing it to smoking in that way. What I meant was if someone wants to do something to their body and are aware it could possibly harm them, that's their business. I wasn't comparing the actual amount of harm between BC and smoking, I should have clarified that.
I am in firm agreement that women have the right to use the pill to avoid pregnancy. It's just not something I choose to do.

Also, I smoke occasionally, and the birth control pill is not smoker friendly at all.

It's not really a prediction if you know what you are looking for. I called it Natural Family Planning. I think it's way better for me than dumping a chemical in my body that has been proven to cause breast cancer.

I just thought it was odd that the chemicals as well as side-effects (like cancer) from birth control make it a form of contraception you are not willing to use, and yet you are an occasional smoker of cigarettes, which also contain chemicals which can hinder conception and definitely cause cancer.

But you know, as long as you are aware of what you are doing to your body, as well as the possible fetus you carry. It's your business. Just like it's the business of other women whether or not they prefer to have an abortion rather than smoke since it too is a conscious decision.

ive read through many of the replies here & i have to say...i see some straight up lunacy.🙄

i'm pro choice & I stopped trying to figure out a long time ago why people, MEN in particular, have so much to say about issues of women's health...particularly abortion.

If you dont like the idea of terminanting a pregnancy...then by all means...YOU dont have an abortion. But why people think they can tell others how to live or even use their religion to push legislation on a woman's body & what she does w/ it is beyond me. The majority of women who use contreception do not use it exclusive for the purpose of birthcontrol. most women do not use abortion as a form of birth control. Most women who choose to terminate a pregnancy for whatever reason do NOT make that descision lightly.

You know what i'd like to see? some legislation on men involving their use of viagra. how about when a man who can't get it up wants to pop those pills, he needs to get certified statements of his impotency from ALL his past sexual partners including his spouse & subdmit that to the doctor for verification & THEN he can get the pills.

you legislate our vaginas & uterus...we legislate your penis. fair is fair. 🙂

you know what else is ironic and sad....is that people will valiantly "defend the unborn"...in the name of "pro life"...even going so far as to attack & murder doctors who perform abortions or bombing women's clinics. a pro-lifer committing acts of domestic terrorism up to & including murder...yeah that's the way to do it. 🙄

but when some of these pregnancies are carried to term & the baby is born into such circumstances as an abusive home, drugs or even abandonned in a dumpster...where are these pro-lifers THEN. my observation is that most pro-lifers are hypocrites who vanish once these "unborn" they claim to be defending are born...some of which face terrible circumstances & end up dying as a result.

in the end...what a woman does w/ her body is HER business.
