"Bones." The 20th Century Fox Television-based project is based on the real-life experiences and bestselling works of novelist-forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs who solves crimes using evidence supplied by skeletal remains. The potential series then would track a Reichs-inspired character named Marjorie Miles, who along with a team of experts, solves the crimes "the C.S.I. teams can't" using reconstructive artists and bug experts. "Brennan" apparently is a working title as it refers to the regular heroine in Reichs' fiction works, Dr. Temperance Brennan. Barry Josephson is also on board to executive produce the project along with Hanson. Reichs herself will also receive a producer credit

Hmmmm! Tuesdays! Let's see. What do I have on Tuesdays? Nothing! Kewl! Can't wait to see the new show! Exciting to see David do something new. Just hope it's good. What am I talking about? Jeez! Every part David does is good!😀

Oh, wait! I do have a medical explore post meeting on Tuesdays. But they are only twice a month. Guess I'll have to tape it! I hate taping shows though!

I've been reading about the new schedule, and other shows in production.

There seems to be a whole slew of shows coming that deal with a specialized squad solving crimes, or dealing with terrorists.

Oh well. I guess the good ones will stick, and the bad ones won't. Hope this is one of the good ones.

I think I may have seen that Kathy Reichs woman who the series is being modeled after being interviewed. If so, I know what she does. It's pretty nifty.

She'll take a human skull, and start to work on it, first with a computer, then with modeling clay. When she's finished she'll have a model that will show almost exactly what the person originally looked like.

I don't know for a fact that's who Reichs is, but if it is, what she does is pretty amazing. I imagine they'll expand on that, so she's using other archaeological techniques to solve crimes. I don't know. Might be interesting.
 
At one point Forensic Anthropology was my major, I am really looking forward to this show, I just hope knowing a little something about the topic is not going to ruin the show for me.
 
All this cross-ology crime fighting is pretty fascinating.

In the city where I live there was this guy who was killing people and feeding the bodies to his pigs. I forget how many people, but there were a lot.

The actual cops bungled the case for years, but after about a hundred people pointed their fingers to this guy's pig farm it finally clued into them that maybe they should check it out.

Luckily they handed the next stage of the investigation over to the local achaelogists, and a swarm of them descended on the farm with archaelogical gear, dusting for bones. Apparently they found a lot of bones.

Very cool. Could be an interesting show for sure. I love those types of shows.

I'm really glad it hasn't been put into the Thursday 'death slot' .... it may actually have a fighting chance at making it.
 
I wonder what's up with the explosion in popularity of the forensic shows? Crime has actually been trending down in the States for well over a decade now:

I'm one of those freaks who doesn't watch any of the crime shows. Here's another armchair analyst:

"But if you include all of the crime-drama shows, and all of the medical investigation shows, and the trial lawyer shows, there are approximately 5,387 Law-and-Order-ish shows floating around. Here's the question: why?
I'm not a sociologist, nor am I a psychologist, but I have to wonder if the sheer number of such shows is a symptom of an overall societal obsession with the law of man and those who break that law.
"But, but," I hear you mentally protest, "isn't it just because those shows are more interesting?" I don't think so. If crime shows are intrinsically more interesting, the other uberpopular shows, like, drats, what do you youngsters watch these days? ... These shows, and the 24 type shows would seem to run counter to the strong gothic trend we saw in the 80's, 90's. Here, there's faith in, dependence on technology to solve problems. Although interstingly David's character is a skeptic (of technology). Like an anti-Scully or something. (Hope Bones is great, by the way)
 
The premise of the show doesn't interest me too much (never been into those kinda shows) but must say, the technology they used in that clip rocked.

I've read all of Reichs' books, which actually pre date CSI by several years...she's a good writer, and she really is a forensic anthropologist. I saw a CBC interview with her back in the early 90's when her first book was in the making, and she knows what's the what...I didn't realize that was what this show was gonna be about...so that's cool, another reason to watch! And we'll see how DB does with another type of character.
 
i was watching hell's kitchen when i saw this preview i actually screamed when David was shown and my brother was like oh my god its angel! and i had a total melt down and started crying because david had moved on...my family now thinks i am insane more so than before
