I hate Dawn. I mean she comes in the season 5 and everything is about her. She was a real drama queen and when Joyce died she was like "Buffy, you didn't loved her" and things like that. What do you think about her?

I actually like Dawn. When she first comes in, it's all very confusing and you're like, who are you?!? I agree that she is a drama queen, but she gets better over the seasons. She's just attention crazed. 7th Season Dawn is pretty awesome, though. 🙂

I agree with Five by Five. I really like Dawn! I really disliked her in Season 6, because she was the most whiny ever then, but in Season 5, Dawn had a reason to have issues. She isn't real, and her mother dies! She has the right to be a "drama queen". Season 6 Dawn is just....annoying. Season 7 Dawn rules, and they should used her more. Dawn is one of the reasons "Lessons" is such a great episode. It's a shame Dawn was used so scarcely in Season 7.

I agree with Five By Five too. I like Dawn , because as my sister would say, "she's starting to grow on me." But in Season 5, like benboy606 said, she has an excuse to act whiny and sort of rude because she is the key, she has Glory after her because of that, her mom is diagnosed with cancer and dies, shortly after that Buffy dies in Glory's portal. In Season 6, she is annoying because she whines alot and always runs away, but in Season 7 she is really cool because she knows whining is just childish and that she's more mature now.

Dawn annoyed the heck out of me until season 7. She matures than. I may have been a bit jealous of her for having the coolest sister in the world too 😛 I think Michelle did a good job playing her and when she nailed the more emotional scenes, like the ones in The Body, it helped me warm up to Dawn and eventually really enjoy her character.

Hmm, for me Dawn's always been a character I was kinda indifferent to, to be honest. She did really annoy me at first but I didn't mind her too much in season seven, but she still wasn't a character I was that invested in.

It sounds weird, but her mouth used to really annoy me, lol. She used to do this kind of smug 'are you going to start with' pout thing that was irritating!

Ha yeah she was a little annoying Brat in season 6,

HA i wanted to hit her sometimes!

But in seasons 5+7 she's okay, and as people said she started to mature in season 7, that was when i liked her most.

I just hated when she use to shout ' Get out, Ge out!'

HA.

While I agree Dawn was annoying, I think she pretty much acted her age most of the time. She was a total drama queen for sure but when I think about it, so are most girls her age. I certainly knew girls like her when I was at school. Also, no one is equipped to deal with the death of a parent so I can especially imagine it would make a girl as young as Dawn go a little loopy.

I found hermajorly annoying at first, you know when she first came in and she was just written to be an annoying, whiny brat. But she gets out of that, and she's not that bad. Although, yes she is a drama queen. I find it especially annoying how she always thinks it's about her!
But, Season 7, I loved Dawn. The whole potentials slayers thing was sad (you know thaat episode where she thinks she's a potential but she isn't).
Overall, I don't really care much, she's okay but some scene make you wanna hug her and others make you wanna hit her, they kinda even out.

Since I was (unfortunatly) prone to spoilers before watching the fifth season, I knew that everyone hated Dawn. While, yeah, she was annoying, but I honestly thought the hate-factor was vastly overrated.

I really like Dawn, grant it I didn't much like her in the beginning due to all the whinning but in her characters defence she was a teenage girl or preteen whichever and most preteens and younger teenage girls are whiny and annoying heck I know I was, also you cant really say why did she have to come to the show and just take over and it be all about her, I mean in the eyes of the scoobies and all She'd been there the whole time, she was the baby and so it was all about her or in Dawns eyes it should be anyways again like it is with most younger girls heck even some older ones lol. Anyways i just seen her character as being an average kid, whiny, annoying but average. I do love how her character grew and evolved and she just eventually became a favorite of mine.

Dawn grew on me. At first I was really iffy on how she was going to fit into the cast and the storylines going on. But I thought the writers did an excellent job with weaving her into the Buffyverse, and by the time Season 7 came, I had grown to really like Dawn. 🙂

UGH. Cannot stand Dawn. And she's so ungrateful. I wanted to slap her when she threw Buffy out of Buffy's own house.

She and Connor would make a perfect match. They can bi*** and whine together.

Haha I so agree :)
I'd much rather see Dawn and Connor together than Cordelia and Connor. Nothing about that situation is okay. Besides, they make sense together. Neither of them was actually born or meant to exist in the first place. They can be all weird and maladjusted together.

Anyhow, what I like about her is that in both BtVS and in Harriet The Spy, she has scenes where she very dramatically tears up her diaries in an angry rage.

LOL I totally agree... Donner is a hell of a lot better than Connelia. *shudder*
Truth is I didn't mind the character. I anticipated being annoyed with her more than I ended up being and she never got on my nerves in the way Connor did in Angel. Now, don't get me started on him.

Oh yeah... I could go on for years about my hatred of Connor.

I feel much the same about Dawn as I do about Connor. I feel they are both characters that the writers never really knew what to do with. (Vincent Kartheiser famously talked about this in his Giant Magazine interview)

I mean, Dawn never really did much of anything, and neither did Connor. It just felt like she was there to be there. Her character didn't grow that much (if at all) and she was, of course, highly annoying. She didn't act the age that Michelle Trachtenberg looked, and the whole thing felt weird.

I have never liked Vincent Kartheiser, but I really hated him as Connor. I haven't read that article, but probably won't just cause I could care less what he has to say. LMFAO
I love Michelle Trachtenberg. I have to say, I was really pissed when the writers didn't do much with her. They should have at least let her have a love interest... And I agree that a lot of the time she acted very immature considering that someone raised in the environment Dawn was probably would have been a lot more serious. But overall, I liked Dawn a lot.

thats exactly my thing too
she really got on my nerves during season five and then how she totally got let off for stealing in season six, but then in season seven i think that her character matured a bunch.
