Question About Future Willow

I just re-read the Time of Your Life arc, and was wondering what Future Willow's motivation was to bring Buffy into Fray's time. She tells Harth that Buffy's presence in the future would cause that future to exist, but she tells Melaka into believing that if Buffy returned to her own period, this time would cease to exist. She obviously lied to someone, or both. Buffy leaves, but Fray's time is still as it was. She manipulated the entire event to happen in the first place. What was Future Willow's point in this?

And how did she live so long? What happened to her magical powers? Why is she dark? Sigh...it's possible that 38-40 might give us some indication about this, but it is 200 yrs into the future, we might not know the full story for a long, long time.
 
It's doubtful that those questions will be answered in Season 8, but they will, hopefully, in Season 9. Then again, there are so MANY unanswered questions in the Buffyverse already that one more hardly matters. Probably, Joss had some really great idea for a sub plot that just got shelved in favor of some more pressing matters. Hopefully, he'll dust it off sometime and finish it.
 
So, we're assuming that Future Willow's actions here don't have anything to do with the Twilight arc of season 8?

If they are or ever were intended to be, I doubt that we'll see it revealed this season, except maybe in some kind of cliffhanger finale in Issue #40. Something like, maybe, at the last moment we find out that Willow has been a sleeper agent all of this time for the snake lady. Willow gets triggered, wreaks some terrible act of mayhem, then makes her escape through another time portal, leaving everyone standing dumbfounded, jaws slack, eyes glazed. "TO BE CONTINUED..."

Then Season 9 has the gang trying to both correct or deal with whatever Willow did while at the same time trying to find some sort of process by which they can reverse or neutralize its effects.

Just a wild guess, obviously. I haven't talked to Joss about the story line in months.
 
My interpretation

from what I understand Willow brought Buffy back so buffy would be the one to kill her..

On the night where fray meets her brother on that final confrontation
harth asks who wllow was lying to and willow replies "This night isnt yours harth"
so who's is it?

In Buffy's and D. Willow's conversation Buffy reacts to willow "You dragged me here and then told me exactly how to get out, everything, every lie, to get us here. Why? What happened? Why does it have to be me?" Wit that sentence the readers are given the explanation as to why willow brought buffy there. and buffy murders D.Willow and the artists show us a look of releif in D.Wllow's eyes.

But thats just my interpretation 😀 any other thoughts?
