Last night, I was about to fall asleep, and then my dog started barking.
I heard sounds outside around the house.
It was like someone was ramming their head into all of the walls.
I could feel the house shaking.
Next thing I know, someone pounds on my window and is yelling random crap.
I was terrified, it was about one in the morning and I had no clue what was going on.
I was afraid to open the blinds because I didn't want to be shocked at the person behind it.
I turned off all the power in the house and woke my dad up about ten minutes later.
Soon after, someone is pounding at the back door now.
It turns out that it was the drunk neighbor who my dad sent home.
He must have hopped over the fence to get over.
I'm barely over here at my dad's house, so I didn't recognize him.
That would be awkward, but I had a wild night.
And if I ever do see him again, I don't think I could forgive him.
I was pretty pissed off.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS KIND OF STUFF ALWAYS HAPPENS TO ME.

One time last year, I was asleep. It was maybe four in the morning and I heard what sounded like someone knocking on the door. So I get up, and my roommates get up at the same time to see who is making the noise. I go to the door, and I can see through the glass part of the door that it's some random girl banging her head against it.

We start talking to her, and she says, "Let me in. This is my friend's house." I tried to explain to her that it was not her friend's house but she wasn't having it. She insisted it was. Anyway, at some point she wanders over to the broken air conditioning unit that we had sitting on our porch. She squats down on it and craps herself. We're just kind of watching her, stunned at this point. One of the roommates was a girl, and she decided she wanted to call the cops. I kind of felt bad for the stranger on the porch because she was clearly just messed up either on alcohol or drugs or both and she didn't appear to be a threat but she apparently she was frightening to the roommate. I tell the girl on the porch the cops will be coming and she should go while she has the chance. She gets up and walks away......and ends up at the back of the house. This time she starts knocking on the window to one of our cars (which was completely empty). We ask her what she's doing and she says her friends are in there.

A couple cops show up, and they try to explain to her that it isn't her friend's house and she tries to say it is. The cops comment on how the girl has no shoes on, and she says she's cold. They ask her where she thinks she is and she says the wrong city name. Finally, they ask her if she knows somewhere they can take her, and they go. Haha, if I did something that crazy the cops would never volunteer to give me a ride some place. They'd just take me straight to jail!

Again, I apologise about all that...

I got lucky, there's no crap on my porch.
Update: Apparently, the man's wife left him.
That could explain why he was shouting.

I don't know how things work where you live, but here in Georgia, someone, either your dad or you, would call on the man at a time when he was sure to be sober, and kindly but firmly explain that, though you sympathize with his problem, if he ever does that again, you're gonna unload a .45 automatic in his a**, then call the police to haul away his bleeding corpse. Not only will you most likely assure that he won't bother you anymore, you might just make him swear off of booze for the rest of his life.

But then I'm just an old red neck Georgia man, AND a probably emotionally disturbed Viet Nam vet with a houseful of guns. I'm sure that there are people in more civilized parts of the world who have different solutions to the problem.

There may be more civilised solutions but I suspect few more satisfying!

By the way, Buffy Summers says can she borrow your guns?

She'll have to let me teach her how to use them first.

do you live with Buffy Summers?
A few years ago, we woke up to find our drunk neighbour (with only one shoe and in underwear btw) in our basement. Apparently, he thought it was his own house and climbed through the basement window. it's a mystery to me how he did it, cos it's underground, very small, was only half open at that time, and there was this iron bar thing on top.

Oh, the joy of drunk neighbours.

At this point I should explain that my above comment was a supposedly "humorous" reference to another matter. Before Buffy uses the guns on me!
I grew up in the Bronx. If someone started doing that I would be on the phone to the police even before I went to my parents. How in the world did your father sleep through that.
