I collect all of the DVDs, and I haven't seen all of the episodes yet. So last night I was watching season 5 (one of my favourites) and I saw the episode "The Family".
I think Tara in general is a very interesting and loved character of mine, and any episode evolving around her, I like. So I was blown away yesterday, when the Scoobygang stood up for her in the ending, I had goosebumps all over me. Because all my life I've always had to stand up for myself, and something like that happening to me, is unreal.
I think Tara felt it in that exact same way, and when they all stood up for her, it was magic. True magic.

I know! 🙂 But between you and me, how do you get a picture? 🙂 next to the nick?

Go to 'Menu Options' and select 'Edit Avatar' from the drop down menu. You will be presented with a gallery of pictures to select from. It might take a while, there are a lot to choose from.

On the subject of 'Family', the scene where the Scoobies stand up for Tara is one of my favorite moments of the fifth season, especially since they were all unsure about her earlier in the episode. Right when Buffy says 'We're family' is a great shot and would make a wicked wallpaper.

I feel the same way about Tara, but, being a Willow/Tara shipper, this is not a big secret.

I used to be a huge Tara fan, I'm not anymore but I still like her a lot. Anyway, when I used to be a real fan that scene was so important to me as well. I just hate it, in the beginning of the episode, when no-one except Willow seems to care about Tara at all, or the fact that it's her birthday... It's just wonderful when they realize that she means a lot to them as well. That's a huge step for them and Tara and Tara/Willow, aww. For some reason, one of my favorite moments is when Spike hits Tara, it just shows that he cares too, some how.. Of course I love what Buffy does too.. ah.

I saw this episode today, and i loved it, i liked how at the begining everyone was so unsure of her, but at the end they realised how much she meant to Willow, and they warmed up to her, it was great.
I felt sorry for her, the way her family treat her was bad, and she seemed so sad.
But i loved how in the end Spike punched her, it was funny, but when Buffy said if you want her, take her, but you'll have to go through me.
It just showed they cared, and it was so sweet, it brought a tear to my eye, because i thought they were going to let her go.

😀 willow and tara rule and family is one of my favourite episodes....
a whole episode for finding out more about tara 😀 and all the scoobies sticking up for tara.....awww.. the birthday dance too awww.... 😀

I loved Family it was so awesome it made u happy and sad at the same time
i love the dance at the end 🙂 awww....and when they all were sticking up for her at the end was GREAT.

seriously one of my fav episodes

I loved this episode. Although I don't think I would have forgiven Tara as quickly as the others did, but meeting her family really helped to explain why Tara was so withdrawn and quiet when we first met her.

I really didn't like her dad or brother and I couldn't understand her cousin! I mean why on earth would you be on her families side, after she found out that the demon thing was a lie!

What if Tara was a demon and the family story was right?
Even though I liked the outcome of the episode, it does get me to wondering if she did have demonic traits within her and Spike's punch didn't work because the demon side didn't come into being until she turned 20.

Obviosuly that's not the truth, but it could have played out that way if the writers chose to do it. How would Willow and the rest of the gang handled that?! Willow forced to at least break up with the love of her life...

[I like to look at things differently]

hummmm well i know willow would love tara no matter what 🙂 the gang would come up with some way.... well spike look at him, even though he had the chip he was still a restraiged animal...
maybe they could have found a way for tara to control her demon side.

oh p.s oz was a warewolf ????

Well, a werewolf isn't really the same thing as a demon, but I agree that it could have been an interesting storyline. I like Tara human the way she is though 😀

I never understood her cousin Beth's reaction to the situation, and why she acted so accusingly toward Tara, even after Spike's revelation. A backstory not filled in, perhaps?

Yeah it's very weird, she should have been hurt and angry with her family, instead she chooses to attack Tara for revealing the horrible secret. Very strange.

I think because she wasn't one of the females with the "demon blood" in her. And now that Tara isn't coming back, she's probably going to be the woman in the family that has to do all teh cleaning and cooking and stuff. I guess maybe thats why she went along with the story, and why she wanted Tara to come back.
