I know this has probably been talked to death (like the Shannen Vs Alyssa Charmed rival) but is there any truth to the rumours that Aly and Emma didn't get along with SMG? Just curious. I haven't heard much about this, just a few things here and there. If there is a thread about this could you point it out to me!

Thanks again. Have a Splendifurious Day!!

There's been all kinds of gossip, rumour, and innuendo over the years, but not much verifiable concerning rifts between cast and crew.

I think you get that in any well known show with an ensemble cast - Desperate Housewives, Friends, Charmed.

A lot of the BTVS gossip spawned out of SMG as diva stories. It was a popular rumor to spread. Stuff like SMG had one of her stunt woman fired, because she said SMG didn't do her own stunts, or Seth Green didn't like her, or everyone was happy when she couldn't make the Buffy wind-up party. But then you hear the actual people talk about SMG in interviews, and they have nothing but glowing reports as to what it's like to work with her.

There's been a few rumors concerning rifts between Joss Whedon and actors Glen Quin and Charisma Carpenter. Again all we know for sure there is it's gossip.

The only Alyson Hannigan one I know of concerns a comment Hannigan supposedly made insinuating she wasn't happy with SMG not giving the rest of the cast some warning she wasn't continuing after Season 7.

I don't know the Emma one, but she wouldn't renew her contract during S 7 before the cancellation, so I imagine somewhere there was a rumor saying it was because of SMG. That was a popular kind of thing to say in gossipy circles.

I remember I read somewhere that SMG didn't invite any of her Buffy co-stars to her wedding with Freddie, oh and I'm pretty sure she did get along well with Seth Green because she's a guest voice star in Seth's show Robot Chicken.

"This is me, this is Seth Green, we're married". That cracked me up. I think she was on there a few times, so I'd have to agree that they get along.
Plus Seth always has good things to say about her, and he did sign up to work with her again after Buffy (Didn't he also do one of the Scooby Doos). Did Alyson invite any of her Buffy co-stars to her wedding? I assume she had one. Is that unusual not to invite co-stars? Did SMG or Alyson have a big wedding. Does any of it matter? I don't know.

he did scooby-doo 2. :)
Also SMGs wedding was in the middle of a Buffy season being made, so she got time off to do it (right?), if everyone had been at the wedding, then no Buffy would have been made at all over that period.

Anyways, hearing things like this only makes me sad, but since it's all just rumours, and since people only say very nice things about each other in interviews I'm just going to do as I'm told and listen to what people actually say instead of try and find evil hidden meanings in everything.

the only rumors of this sort that i've heard is the one N4H mentioned about SMG not telling the others that she wasn't continuing after S7. as far as i can tell, she told an interviewer first and the rest of the cast found out when they read the interview.
with such a large cast and so many people coming and going, there are bound to be people who don't get along, the odd argument creeping up.
didn't SMG get Michelle T the role of Dawn? or at least had a hand in her being cast? they worked together before, and i think i remember reading something about SMG telling Joss that Michelle would be perfect for the role of her sister. she took Michelle on a tour of the set before she actaully started work as Dawn (which is probably where all those rumors of Dawn being in 'Restless' came from)

i do know, however, that David Boreanaz and Christian Kane are really good friends in real life. Chris was at David's wedding and stuff.

Basically, don't believe a word of what you read about any celebs anywhere because 99.99999% of it is going to be made up and the rest will only be half the story.

Did the cast of Buffy ever argue or piss each other off? Of course they did. You can't know and work with a group of people for seven years and always agree on everything. That is life. Same as in every other workplace.

I tend to think that unless you hear a celeb saying something word for word in a televised interview then it's probably not worth taking it as fact because the media has the ability to take even the most innocent comment and turn it into a raging argument between two people. The best thing to do is ignore it all.

I agree with Arcane. I also don't like to think about it considering it ruins the show for me. But there are exceptions, like in Charmed with Alyssa and Shannen, where for some reason it just makes me like it more. I have no idea why...

Thanks for all the replies. I always take this stuff with a grain of salt. The whole Alyssa vs Shannen thing, I feel the same way about. None of us were there so we really can't judge who was right, who was wrong and what was said. Only the cast and crew know for sure what went down.

I heard that Alyson and Julie Benz didn't get along. Alyson even said so! Luckily for them, Darla was killed off pretty quickly.

Hey i like very few people i work with, so why should actors be any different? what happens on screen is all that matters to me. I think Aly and Alexis did have some of the cast at their wedding, because [i think] it says on the dvd commentaries somewhere that joss told amy that fred was going to die at their wedding.
