I just started watching AHS (after meaning to for a long time), and to my surprise in the first two episodes we get two Buffy actors! Bianca Lawson and Azura Skye! Just thought it was pretty neat. Anyone know of any cool appearances later on?

Lots of people pop up in AHS from a load of other series, I had forgotten either of those actresses were in AHS, I much got back and watch season 1 again.

IMDB has it that 13 actors/actresses pop up in both BtVS and AHS: http://www.imdb.com/search/name?roles=tt1844624,tt0118276
30 in total for stunt people/producers and stuff

Dam, that is impressive, I'm almost done s1 after much procrastinating, and I'm very impressed with the cast/supporting cast. So much talent in one show, and it's always fun to see familiar faces. You're right, a lot of people from other series that I watch pop up on AHS.

WOAH, I actually never even clued in the Clea DuVall played Marcie, how did I not know that!

Edit x2, I also never recognized the young maid.

Haven't seen AHS seasons 1 or 2 but I've been watching AHS Coven and Wow! Love it SO much!

I've only seen s1, but I'm also in love! I don't know why I waited so long to watch this show.

Anyone else watch Coven and think that every mother in the show is a total bitch & a half? Kind of refreshing in a weird way...

Ohh, I didn't realize there was that many Buffyish people on AHS! 🙂

I just got through watching all of the episodes of Coven there have been so far. I really like it, but I'm not finding it as scary or freaky as the last two seasons. Maybe I'm just desensitized now? I mean after Asylum, which totally icked me out, its probably gonna take a lot to get to me now, haha.

And I swear, I've had freakin Fleetwood Mac songs stuck in my head for the past few days now! haha 😉

Yeah for sure. But its weird, both Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates are such horrible people (Especially Kathy!) but I find myself feeling sorry for them all the time. I've hated and felt sorry for Jessica's characters in every season so far actually.

Yes! I just started watching Coven and so far I don't find it scary at all, and aside from the slave perspective it's not too disturbing either. I guess Asylum set the bar extremely high though, it was just so twisted in every way. I'm hoping that next season goes back to being a bit darker.

I've also had Fleetwood Mac stuck in my head haha, but at least it's not Dominique from last season, I had that song in my head for ages!

Same with Jessica Lange's character, I think part of it is that she's such an amazing actress, I always end up feeling for her.

I'm about to watch Asylum. I'm approaching with caution because I get night terrors (what am I doing to myself! Haha)

I've been nicknaming some of the characters.
Kathy Bates is Misery.
Kyle is Pick n Mix

One of the things I've loved about Coven is that it's an almost entirely female cast that doesn't involve gossiping over cocktails or endless shagging & pining over men. The women are independent & interesting & fully carry the show.
I used to be all about Showtime & HBO but FX & AMC are really nailing it with shows like AHS, Walking Dead, Justified & Breaking Bad (may you rip).

Exactly, I think Jessica is brilliant too. Its definitely a testament to how good an actress both she and Kathy Bates are that they can be so vile yet you end up sympathizing with them. The only one that I didn't feel anything for is Kyle's mother (I still really wanna call him Tate! haha At least in Asylum he had different hair so it was easier to think of him as Kit, haha), that horrid bitch got exactly what she deserved imo.

I know! I'm a big horror fan, I watch all this stuff that scares the hell out of me and gives me nightmares yet I still go back for more, so silly! haha.

I also agree about FX & AMC. I do love Girls though, and I still watch True Blood even though its been annoying the hell out of me the last few seasons. I love every show you just mentioned. Although, after reading all that stuff about Frank Darabont and AMC, I'm wary of them. Even though I don't really know exactly what went on I guess.

Tim Minear is one of AHS's writers, but I had no idea about the actors and actresses. Very cool!

I got really excited the first time I saw Tim Minear was a writer on it! That show is certainly not lacking any talent
Okay, I started watching season one instead of Asylum. I'm doing a holiday marathon. I intend to watch the whole season in one day despite the beautiful weather.
Strangely, I'm not finding it scary. I'm not too keen on that gimp suit but otherwise it hasn't been freaking me out at all. Maybe Asylum will though. Unanimous opinion seems to be that it's nightmare material.
So far Coven has my heart & is totally disturbing (in the best way!)

Ya, If I had to use one adjective to describe the show, it'd be twisted. I don't think it's exactly scary per say, but it's very much a horror genre show based on its themes (I don't think horror and scary are synonymous at all). It's very very dark (especially asylum), but I've never really found it scary. To be fair, I'm a huge horror buff and nothing really phases me, so it might just be me, my roomate seem to find it really scary (like you said, especially Asylum).

Yes, twisted is the right word, Blaze.

Usually the only horror I watch is comedy/horror cause I'm a big, girly wimp. For instance, I wouldn't go near Saw or anything like it. I can watch some light-weight slashers like Scream Final Destination which are pretty funny. But Texas Chainsaw Massacre gave me nightmares! So everyone is pretty surprised I've been enjoying AHS so much. Maybe I hardening up? Haha!
