Actors or anyone with tips! HELP!!!

I'm not sure if any of you heard me talking about the play I was auditioning for, but the auditions are done. I found out yesterday that I'm a lead role 'Captian Alexander Smollette' in the play 'Treasure Island'.

Ok good for me I made lead role cause I can sing and act. Heres the catch. Out of all the roles I audition for I get this one, which happens to have a HALF NUDE SEEN!

I mean I've only done one play before as the Grinch. which wasn't too hard considering all I had to do was run around going 'Roaaaar'.

anyway, the nude seen involves a girl undressing me onstage until I'm in my underwear/boxers. She then holds my towel up high so the audience can't see me. So far so good right?

WRONG! I have to get into a tub, then have the girl wash my back and legs WHILE singing a solo!!!! I fricking solo, while being washed by a girl, mostly naked in front of my high school!!!!

That should be it right? Nope AS I GET OUT, SHE DROPS THE TOWEL AND EVERYONE IN THE SCHOOL GETS TO SEE ME MOSTLY NAKED!!!

I guess what I;m asking is what the hell do I do? and do any of you have any tips on acting altogether?
 
ya know what they say picture the audience naked lol seriously i mean im sure that works and im not tryin to be funny or anyting im just sayin that worked for a lot of people and also dont be nervous you are the one that had guts to get up on stage and they are the ones in the audience so ya know it wont be embarassing, i hope that helped
 
Yeah picture the audience naked! that will work! then we'll all be in the same boat. same boat? pirate play? argh!!!

Its gonna be VERY hard no to get nervous. I have to go jog 4 nights a week, and continue doing 300 stomach crunches along with 100 push ups. It gets EXTREMELY tiring.

If I didn't want to be an actor and gain experiance so bad, I'd give it up.

I can't try to picture them naked, but I can try to forget about them.

Bye the way, when I said tips I meant stuff like 'Always face the audience' or 'If you screw up, make up something'.

ahhh...stop the unwarranted training...it won't make much of a difference...

just make sure you do one thing...when she's washing you in your boxers...do not get wood...if you do......run!!
 
Well, if you're big (you know where I mean) there's no big deal, you might just have girls falling for you ... but that's not bad!

If you're small ... get a penis enlargement and pray!
 
You people are terrible! lol. I like to think I have an average size, but thats not the point! besides I'll be in water.

Tips people! Good tips that can help. I know there are at least 2 aspiring actors on these boards but I don't remember who they are or if they're even still active.
 
get a nude coloured thong for men to cover your credentials and stuff some nude coloured material down there to cover your bits so it wont show if you get a wood!!

stay calm and practise that sceen a lot so it becomes boring and no big deal on the night, focus on the character and the mood of the character, try to forget what you are wearing (or not) and emerse yourself in the story and concentrate on your lines and all your qu's so you dont mess up and you can support the other girl if she forgets her lines then you can be in manager mode and forget your own personal situation..

you guys really call it that, ha!

ok i go in for more directing then acting these days but this is the single best of advice i can give.

the water will be cold! so you having nothing to worry about 😀

plus how do you know the girl isnt a hipo-croco-pig??

if you have a semi pro set up your have bright lights shining right at you so you can't see the audience 🙂
 
Lights I;m sure I can ask one of the crew. As for the girl shes a pretty grade 10.

I get nervous even thinking about all that. I'll try everything you people have said.

I think they say 'get wood' is cause they're to afraid to say BONER! hehehe.
 
or maybe theres some backwards american tradition that involves twigs?!!?! 😉

look on the brightside this will help your confidence!

don't worry about anything down there your be busy being nervouse from performing! hell i know people who get nervouse from "performing" and thats with out any acting or audience to worry about! 😀
 
Why does everyone think I;m worried about my penis? ya thats right I said Penis! I;m worried about what will happen on stage, like will I screw up, will I slip in the tub, will I have great abs by the time we preform. I don't care if they don't like my package!
 
You're not gonna really have water on stage are you? Sounds like a recipe for electrocution to me, what with all the lighting and sound equipment...concentrate on not being electrocuted and you'll forget all about being semi-nekkid 🙂

Surely you mean - pirate play? YARRR!! AHARR, JIM LAD!!

Really make sure you know your lines inside out is my acting tip. Oh and have fun and and enjoy it - being in a play is no fun if it feels like hard work.

look,it wont be you will be the character,bodies?doesn't matter.you're going to act,the ppl is gonna see ya of course but you shouldn't care,because when you're acting you aren't you anymore,you're the naked guy who doesn't care to be naked.just focus in another thing...think about the girl or the audience naked.or just concentrate and do a make a good performance. if a guy tells you something:''if ypu're saying this is cuz you saw me,who would imagine you seeing naked guys??,world is weird...''
if is a girl tell her she's fat and she's gonna run to the bathroom and stop bothering ya 😉
 
Ok I understood every other word of that, but thanks for the advice. Basicaly become the character and forget I'm me. ok.

and Falador no I am attracted to girls, the subject was just headed in the wrong direction....
 
You could see if they'd boost up the lighting behind the audience drowning them out in light. General acting tips well just emerse yourself in the words and dont try and get the perfect body, learn the part.

Our college is doing Hair and the naked scene (never seen it so im going by what ive been told) is being cut, unsuprisingly. I thought it would be cool to be an actor but Im not sure if im any good. Might try out for the next college play.
 
well i would say try too just concentrate on the part on the lines on the solo. if you keep doing that the whole time i think youll be okay.
