Actors or anyone with tips! HELP!!!

The solo! I forgot about that! lol. I'm so nervous and its like 6-7 months away! ahhhh. I'm gonna try alot of your suggestions.

I have a question for all of you. Would YOU do it? (if a guy was doing your back, legs, and feet for the girls).
 
if i was a rich pirate captain and a fit girl was giving me a personally session? all i had to do was sing?

i don't think i'd much care mate!!! 😀
 
Hmmm...Im not sure if i would do it...But I dont have much expierence in acting.So all I can say is it wont be that easy to forget the audience and the chick and the fact that you are half naked infront of everyone...But you can try.Think about this: all the people who auditioned, wheather it was 3 or 30, you are the one who got it.Thats gotta mean something.But if you are like, fat or tubby(though i doubt it), then i would exersize...You know how it is, if you arent the most fit person you arent nothin....Practice alot....but not too hard....Dont push your self too much, dont put ALOT of pressure on yourself, and the night before get plenty of sleep so your eyes arent puffy and red....I may sound like an old lady, but I told you i dont have much expierence...Im not saying you wont be nervous...You will be....Hey!Look at it this way: if you do "get wood" you can just say the water was too cold.....Or too hot..I cant tell you what to do about the bottom woodey sutuation, because i dont have ANY expierence there, but as Allyson Hannigan says in American Pie 2, Dont turn into the sears tower...Think of something non-sexual.Like chairs, horses, popcorn, pepsi, other men, etc.etc.etc. and that should be okay.Just dont get too distracted.

Sorry if my advise wasnt worth shiz-etts but hey....I am no actress.I havnt even been in a play.We have auditions for one comin up tho....I was thinkin of auditioning, but this thread kinda scared me!

I thought I might give you people some more insight, and remember Sam is the girl disguised as a boy.

'Captian enters from right ships door carrying a long handled scrub brush.

Captain Smollett: Ah good morning, Mr. Morgan! (looking about and stretching) Beautiful day! Beuatiful day!

I thought I'd be taking my bath on deck. Don't think I'll be embarrassing anyone, since we're all men here.

(to Jim and Sam)
Right boys?

Jim: Aye, Aye, sir!
Sam: I, I, I, I.....

(Captain tests the water with one finger)

Captian: Ah! Perfect temperature. Come here Sam and help me remove my robe.

(Captian turns his back, and takes one arm out of a sleeve).

Sam: I, I, I...
Captian: Whats wrong with you boy?
Sam: Aye, Aye, Sir!
Captain: Well, get the other sleeve!
Sam: Aye, Aye, Sir!

(Sam holds up the robe as high as possible. The Captain is still covered as he gets into the tub unseen by the audience.am starts edgeing left. The Captain is now revealed, seated in the tub, facing front. Sam drops the robe over his own head to prevent from seeing the Captain. The crew is hysterical).

Captian: What are you doing boy?
Sam: I don't know sir.
Captain: Put that robe down! Wheres my soap?
Sam: I, I, I, I forgot sir.
Captian: Well, go and get it! and stop saying Aye, Aye!!!
Sam: Aye, Aye, Sir!

(crew laughs as Sam stumbles away)

Captian: Quiet! resume your duties!

'ok now heres some talking and then my solo about how I love my ship and myslef and wanna keep both in 'Ship Shape'. Minutes later Sam comes back in.

Sam: heres the soap Captian!
Captian: well get on with it! Its time you gave my back a scrubbing......ah that feels good!......and both my feet, I'll need you to scrape!

(the captain laughs, being tickled)
NOTE: If I start to laugh, I'm not stopping!

'Big song and more talking, a few solo parts!' Sam comes back after leaving to get my towel. He comes back in.

Sam: Here it is captain!
Captian: well hold it in front of me, I;m ready to get up.
Sam: Aye, Aye, Sir!

(the captain gets out, but as the crew hits the 'swells' Sam looses his/her balance and drops the towel, exposing the captian in white underwear breeches. Sam screams and wraps the towel around the captians waist holding onto him for dear life, as the Captain tries to shake him off.)

NOTE: I left some talking parts by other people out.

I realize this isn't the kind of advice youre looking for, but as you mentioned it.... If your abs are a concern, feeling good about the way you look will give a little confidence boost and (hopefully) make everything else (about the "nude" scene) a little less of a concern.... I have a point, i promise..... Anyway, a day or so before the opening night, you could go and get some airbrush tanning. This typically lasts for several days, and the tanners can give you deffinition where ever you want it. They can give you some really impressive painted on abs (that look real enough) that will last for a few days, even after bathing.

Just a thought.

I'm not just working out for the play. I've been working out for the past 3 weeks already. I'm doing it cause I want to. I just need to make sure I stick with because of the play.

As for the tanning, this may sound weird but it would make me feel artifical. The stuff all over me. Now I;m sure I wouldn't feel it too much, but I don't think I'm gonna do that. But I might alter your suggestion and go to a 'tanning salon' instead.

just remember how it will look to future directors if they see your fine with doing this now.

and don't get a fake tan because A: your look like david dickenson (ie Orange) and B: because your look most silly if it all comes off in the bath!!! 😉

remember be nervouse its a good sign.

and if you dont make such a big thing of it i doubt anyone else will! 😀
 
Well, seeing as your a 'film maker' I should really take your advice.
Don't make big deal, don't get tan, it's ok to be nervous, try and sleep with the actresses. Got it. thanks Faldor.
 
As a fellow actor, I would recommend thinking it over. If you're really uncomfortable with it, don't do it. The worst thing to do is perform in a play that you're uncomfortable in. I'm really surprised that a high school play will allow this 'partial nudity' to go on. Talk to your director, maybe he/she has different plans for that scene. I would imagine that they will make sure nothing slips, and everything will run smooth. Can't imagine the director taking the risk. But honestly, you have a lot of time to gain more experience in other plays, if you chose not to do this one. But if you really want to do it, go for it. Talk to your director, practice the scene over and over, and be sure to wear like 4 pairs of underwear under your boxers...just to be safe.
 
I'll probobly go through with it. I always wear underwear under my bathing suit anyway. Thanks for the advice. I;m trying to get all the experiance I can!

as for the school allowing 'partial nudity', I think the whole thing was just created at the last minute, cause the whole world is out to get me! lol.
