If you were in charge of casting for Joss, which perhaps under-appreciated actors would you insist get roles on a Joss project?
Me, I would insist on casting General Hospital's Rick Hearst. I'd hate to lose him from GH, but I think his prodigious talent could be better used elsewhere. On GH, he consistently takes crap writing (they don't seem to know what to do with his character) and turns it into Emmy gold. I think he's easily the best actor on the show. He can take lines that are just complete and utter crap that contradict his lines from like a month ago and still give a nuanced performance that makes me believe every word. It is the acting and not the writing that makes me root for this character even when he's doing horrible things (like chaining pregnant women to walls in panic rooms and sleeping with his wife's daughter). For some unknown reason, GH keeps him on the backburner. I'd want Joss to give him a role that would let him shine.
On Youtube, I found a video that shows his range. Ooh - and here's another one that I just love (it shows off more than his acting). The second one shows him as a family man and as a really sexy man. Neither of those videos are mine. See what you think. Can you see him kicking butt - or whatever they're going to do - with Eliza Dushku in Dollhouse? Or on some other show?
