Networks are bidding on a new live action Addams Family series, and the best part would make @Faith really happy is that the incomparable Tim Burton is the showrunner. Oh yeah. That makes it must see right there. Sarcasm.

While the original focused on Gomez and Morticia this show focuses on Wednesday and balancing her unique social life with school. Oh yeah, that sounds great.
 
Think I heard something about it. I'll at least check out the pilot but keep my expectations low. For me it will be hard to even come near the 90's films and for many they will love the original series too much. The setup sounds lame. The problem with Burton showrunning is I think writing is his weakest aspect. We'll see.
 
Sure but I think showrunner to me implies he will do a fair bit of writing. I guess it varies what that actually means.

Tim Burton won’t even bother to watch one episode of the original...hack...
 
Seriously, the 90s films are going to be a hard standard to exceed.

Showrunner isn't an official term, but it usually means Head Writer and Frontline Executive Producer.
 
Tim who?

Must've been some forgotten relic of the '90s who haven't made a good movie in the last 10 years.
